| ![]() Glad to hear Samantha did good with her spay. Maybe someone at the vets office may be interested. Hope she has a good recovery.

| ![]() I think any one of the vet techs at the vet's office would be happy to have Samantha. Samantha slept through the night just fine and ate breakfast this morning and took her pain medicine. I will be home with her most of the day and will keep an eye on her. I will try to keep her pretty quiet for a day or two, but expect she will be back to normal pretty quickly. I am SO glad the spay is over! Her incision looks clean and neat and she isn't bothering it. She's grandma's sweet girl. Jeanette |

| ![]() I am glad to hear this , I hopefully will pick my Sassy up this afternoon. I wish you could keep Samantha, you love her so much but I know everyone doesn't have the ideal situation to take care of a dog.

![]() I have lived here for over 15 years and have had three dogs on occasion during that time. It's always temporary and no problem. The landlord knows Samantha is here, but it's OK. My dogs are always under control. She will be going to another home one of these days. Jeanette

| ![]() I am sure you won't have any problem finding a home for her, just try to make sure its a forever home. Right now I am in the middle of trying to find a home for a Miniature Schnauzer that belongs to my 19 year old granddaughter. She got this sweet dog several years ago when she was still at home living with her mom. Then my daughter(her mom) suddenly gets a divorce and that puts the mom, 2 teenagers and 3 dogs in an apartment (they were only suppose to have 2). That was chaotic but do-able until there was an apartment change and the granddaughter moves out on her own, then suddenly no one lives in a place that will accept the pets! Granddaughter lives where she can have NO pets, mom is in a place that will only accept 2 and that leaves poor little Button hanging in limbo! I have 7 dogs and 5 cats and absolutely have no room for her but I seem to be the one that cares the most. So I am searching on my own for the perfect someone where Button can go and live forever and get the love and attention she so much deserves. I have a lady that has contacted me regarding Button and she seems perfect. I am meeting with her Monday to see it if is a match but IF I end up placing Button with her I plan on telling her that if for any reason there is a problem of any kind to please contact me. If any new home for her doesn't work out I will find a way to take her into my home. I refuse to let that little dog be a statistic unless it ends in happily every after.

HOORAY, Samantha hopped down off the couch yesterday and went into the kitchen to use the potty pad. That's a first! She uses it when she's in her crate or when she's confined in the kitchen, but that's the first time she's gone to find it when she was loose. I am letting her be loose a little longer as time goes by, watching her carefully, and encouraging her to go to the potty pad. She's only had one accident in the last three days, so she is catching on. She has recovered very quickly from her spay surgery and is back to normal. Her incision is healing beautifully and she has not bothered it. My son still has not talked to my granddaughter about letting Samantha go to a new home, but he is going to have to do it. Brianna is out of town with her other grandmother until Friday. I have fallen in love with Samantha, of course. She is very sweet and is fun to have around. I think the potty issue can be resolved and I'm being very persistent with her, but gently. I think she felt like going potty was a bad thing and I certainly don't want her to think that! We are making progress! ![]() Jeanette

| ![]() Samantha went to find the potty pad and use it again last night while she was loose. I am encouraged! My son had lunch with me yesterday to celebrate Father's Day, so Samantha got to see him and spend some time with him. I think he will have just as hard a time letting Samantha go as my granddaughter. He takes very good care of her and gives her a lot of attention. I do give him advice and talk to him about the right thing to do for Samantha, but he loves her and isn't apt to get really tough with her like I do. She whines when she's confined sometimes, and he gives in and turns her loose. I don't give in. She is up-to-date on her shots and has been spayed and has been switched to very good dog food. Her skin is very nice and her coat is getting shiny and we're making progress with the potty training. I want to keep her at my house now until we find a good home for her. If he takes her back home, I don't think he will ever let her go and she will be right back to where she was and ruin his carpet again. He's putting off talking to my granddaughter about finding Samantha another home. That's not going to be easy, but he's going to have to do it. I wish we had a relative willing to take Samantha who would take good care of her, but there isn't anyone. Dealing with her lack of potty training is difficult and not very many people are willing to tackle it. It doesn't bother me, but I know it is going to take some time and patience to remedy it. It isn't her fault that she wasn't properly trained. I think she's going to catch on and be fine in the potty training department. Jeanette |
