Samantha went to find the potty pad and use it again last night while she was loose. I am encouraged! My son had lunch with me yesterday to celebrate Father's Day, so Samantha got to see him and spend some time with him. I think he will have just as hard a time letting Samantha go as my granddaughter. He takes very good care of her and gives her a lot of attention. I do give him advice and talk to him about the right thing to do for Samantha, but he loves her and isn't apt to get really tough with her like I do. She whines when she's confined sometimes, and he gives in and turns her loose. I don't give in. She is up-to-date on her shots and has been spayed and has been switched to very good dog food. Her skin is very nice and her coat is getting shiny and we're making progress with the potty training. I want to keep her at my house now until we find a good home for her. If he takes her back home, I don't think he will ever let her go and she will be right back to where she was and ruin his carpet again. He's putting off talking to my granddaughter about finding Samantha another home. That's not going to be easy, but he's going to have to do it. I wish we had a relative willing to take Samantha who would take good care of her, but there isn't anyone. Dealing with her lack of potty training is difficult and not very many people are willing to tackle it. It doesn't bother me, but I know it is going to take some time and patience to remedy it. It isn't her fault that she wasn't properly trained. I think she's going to catch on and be fine in the potty training department.
