| Bella got stung by one of those last year, they fly really low and walk on our grass...She screamed like you wouldn't believe...scared me to death...I rushed her to the Vet...she got sick, was throwing up...but she was fine after about an hour, Thank god...And I was walking out in the yard last weekend picking up toys and throwing the ball for Harley and I guess I stepped on one, he got me...now I know why Bella yelpped so loud and long, it really hurt....I called my yard guy and told him we need to do something about them....not sure what he did...but I have noticed I don't see them flying or walking on my grass now...yay!!

I think they are called Ground Digging Wasp's. Wish you knew what your yard guy did to get rid of them.

| Thank you! Yes, he's fine. I'm glad my neighbors didn't call 911 because of my screaming!

We have so many bees and wasps that I'm thinking I should have something here, just in case.

| Jackson also goes over those... anything flying -- he wants to catch! He's killed a few butterflies too. What a dork. I'm pretty certain he's been stung before because once there was one in the grass and he was pawing at it and then he lifted his paw up. I watched for over an hour for any signs so I don't think he's allergic. Like, I'm not allergic, so if I get stung it doesn't really affect me... just leaves a little mark and bump. But we discovered my dads dog Lilly is allergic. She got stung and swelled up like CRAZY... her paws were huge and then her face was ginormous. She was having trouble breathing. We rushed her to ER vet. They told us to keep Benadryl on hand now.

| Once Princess could come outside to potty it was around April-ish. In our complex there's a large potty area & tons of bees would be in the grass out there. I tried to keep her moving quick until it was potty time. One time she stopped to sniff & before I knew what she was doing she lifted her head & shook it side to side, then opened her mouth & a bee flew out! I thought she got stung until a few months later when I realized she would've been crying out in pain. We were walking again & this time it was evident she stepped on one. She babied her paw & cried for an hour, I felt terrible. The vet said to use benadryl for any swelling/difficulty breathing but she was ok other than the pain. She's still infatuated with the stupid things & I fear it will happen again.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Roxy was always going after them too. She is exceptionally good with the 'leave it' command. I kept after her everytime one was buzzing around. She's still interested, but minds me real good. Now she usually looks at the bee/wasp, looks at me, and back at the bug and walks away. Sometimes I have to say 'leave it', but not so much anymore. That's a command worth teaching.

| Oh, dear, bees and wasps are so dangerous! A friend of mine lost her small dog when he tried to swallow a wasp. It stung his throat and it swelled and choked him. It happened very quickly, before she could get him to the vet. I have wasps around my house and am very careful of them. The dogs love things that crawl or fly. Jeanette |

| We didn't know what got her...I found where the bee or wasp stung her on the side of her little leg close to her paw...so I knew something stung her..Vet shaved her leg to get a better look at the sting...whatever it was, it got her good...He had us stay at the office for a few hours to make sure she didn't have a bad reaction, which she did but it wasn't bad, she just got sick once and that was it...but sent me home with antibiotics, antihistamine and a few pain killers...Told me to hold onto the antihistamines for a year before throwing them out, just incase it happened again.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | My Quincy will EAT bugs !! He had eaten spiders, ants, bees, and even a live locus.... and now tried to eat a yellow jacket Just Friday night I swatted down a nescience Yellow Jacket and a few min later there he was trying to eat the darn thing. I think he may have gotten stung because off it went and Quincy was reacting weird snorting and shacking his head. He will learn the hard was one of these days... I just hope he doesn't get to seriously hurt by any of these creepy crawlers!
