| Newbie with questions Hi, everyone I am new to the site. I have been reading threads and have gained a lot of insight. I am crossing my fingers that I get a puppy from Southeast Texas Yorkies. I have read nothing but good things about her and I am looking forward proceeding with getting the puppy. I just have a few questions. I am trying to get things ready for her if I am able to get the pup. I am looking at getting an xpen along with bedding, food bowls, puppy pads etc. I am not sure what else I need for the new little girl. Does anyone have suggestions? Should I get a crate along with the xpen or is the xpen good enough? I have read different things about puppy pads. Are reusable the best? What is the best food? I have looked at Royal Canin and Eukanuba. Which do you reccommend? This will be our first yorkie and I want to ensure we are prepared for her to come home with us. Thank you |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. I used an xpen for my pup. Make sure it is tall enough or has a top to contain your baby. Some are jumpers and climbers. I bought the short xpen first and went out the next day to buy the tall one. No to Eukanuba, in my opinion. Royal Canin is a food some here feed. You can visit the health and diet section to get an idea of some of the other foods people feed. Washable vs disposable piddle pads are a matter of personal preference. There are vendors that sell the washables here if you need a resource. Good luck and best wishes with your pup.

Welcome to YorkieTalk! I know you will be so excited about getting a new puppy. Yorkies are little darlings. I have not ever had an xpen so I have no advice here. As far as bedding, let me highly recommend a cloud 9 bed! Well worth the price. You can see them here: Cloud Nine Beds*::*Bedding*::*Yorkie Haven Rescue Boutique Rosie loves loves loves hers! Puppy pads, I used the disposable until I could get her trained. Now she only goes outside. As far as food, I feed Rosie Instinct. But everyone prefers different ones and the dogs prefer different things. Here is another link to help you with food. Dog Food Comparison Chart - Dog Food Ratings of Premium Dog Food and Supermarket The few things you will need that I can think of include a brush, toys, and Nutracal. Keep Nutracal on hand. You may never have to use it but it is best to have it available just in case. Good luck on your new furbaby. Hope it works out for you!

| You guys are great! Thanks so much. I just wanted to say thank you for the link to the dog food reviews. It really opened my eyes. I thought those were reputable food brands but I was soo wrong. I will do a little more research to see which is the best to get. It is so nice to have so many knowledgeable people on this site. I will definitely be asking more questions if I get her. Thanks |
