| Finally!!!! I know I've been gone for awhile. Life gets in the way. But I just had to share. One of my rescues, Bridget, after over 7 long months, last night, for the first time EVER.. picked up a toy and carried it for a few seconds. Today she carried the same little toy even longer. By george, I think she has actually figured it out. I have to tell you, I was every bit as proud as the day my first kid took his first step. damn near wept. It has made every pee mistake worth it, and her and Brie still make lots of mistakes...lol. Brie still will have nothing to do with a toy. She spends 99% of her time on the couch but Bridget runs with the others and joins in to antagonize the cats, she is really acclimating. So, it shouldn't have surprised me to see her pick a toy up, it just touched me so to think how far she's come from a cramped, crowded breeder cage in a mill to running in a little pack, flexing her furious little personality and now picking up her very own little toy. It's one of those little birds that chirp when it moves, actually a cat toy. I'm just so proud, I had to share... back to life......

| Ahhhh that is so sweet. It would make you cry to know what they go through in a puppy mill and then to see the little thing finally enjoying life. I think its great you took these babies in. God bless you and others like you that rescue these babies. |

| Brie is a pretty hard case. She has finally got to where she doesn't sit alone and gloms onto me. She is still fixated on Bear. Stares at him continuously. I don't know if she was ever traumatized by a huge black dog or what, but anyway... she still has no interest in toys, doesn't run with the pack but her personality is slowly becoming more loving...it's just taking her way longer. One day she'll probably surprise me as well... It has been an adventure, I encourage anyone who can to take in a rescue baby, the rewards outweigh the problems. I'll clean up their 'mistakes' till they die for the joy they bring us...it's been a real hoot. Nothing I love more than laying in my recliner with all 5 of the kids piled on me sleeping together......

| I had actually never heard of that. Bizarre. She is not afraid to occasionally get up in his grill and yell at him and then race back to her spot on the couch in order to resume staring. I would love to know just what it is she tells him. Thank goodness he is patient...
