| Tell Me About Your Dog(s) Got this thread idea from another forum. I pretty much wrote a "book" on Jackson but I'd love to hear specifics on your dog(s)! So SHARE, your dogs detailed biography!!! LoL. Jackson is my best friend, my partner-in-crime, my little buddy. He's with me a majority of my time, whether we are running to the bank together, or going on vacation. All he really wants is just be with me constantly. Even though he doesn't necessarily need or want to be "close" to me, being in the same room is a must. Example: If he's on one side of the fence and I'm on the other, he will sit there and just stare at me, letting out an occasional whine or bark. Once I get back on his side of the fence, he ACTS like he could care less that I'm in there and goes off running, digging, and doing his own thing, lol. But really he's always got his eye on me and is very concerned what I am doing. He's super smart. My dad always comments that he is the smartest dog he's ever seen. He's a thinker. He doesn't just do things blindly. He also remembers everything... if he had a bad experience ONE time, he WILL remember... like when our oven was opened, letting smoke out, setting the smoke alarm off. He no longer goes near the oven as he associates it with the bad sound. He is highly trainable and enjoys learning. He actually whines at me at a certain time of day so I don't forget to do atleast 10 minutes of clicker training with him, he thoroughly enjoys our 'sessions'. He is also a very sensitive dog in general. He's really bombproof. What I mean is I know I can take him anywhere and he will behave. I have a "second family" who I would not call dog people or lovers and they even just love him. He's very go with the flow and enjoys doing anything so long as I'm there with him. He's laid back in certain ways... a ton of dogs are barking at him through a fence? *shrugs* he just keeps walking. We go into a store, he lays down while I look through the shelves. But on the other hand, he can be a spazz too!! We go to my dads house for example and he hears a four wheeler driving by and he starts barking like a maniac and runs out the door and goes and chases it (thru a fence). He hears the front door open and he's ruffruffruffruff loud alert barking all the way to the door. And it's an ear piercing bark. He enjoys playing with other dogs a LOT -- dog parks and dogs in general he would much rather be with than people. Strangers he can take or leave. He allows people to pet him and give him some lovin' but he's doing it more as a favor, he doesn't really care about it himself. However, once he gets to know a person, he will love you forever. All my family and close friends he just adores and greets with hugs and kisses. He's not really a lap dog and doesn't "enjoy" being picked up. Oh and he's a terrible begger. He sees food, he wants it, and will beg and stare at it. He will play with toys with me and get all amped up but it generally lasts only 15 minutes. Once he's let it be known he's done, I can throw the tennis ball and he looks at me like I'm crazy. He highly enjoys being a "dog"... digging, getting muddy, swimming, rolling in dead things. Overall he is a very active dog but not what I'd call hyper, most of the time. He is very biddable and happy to work for anyone with food, but he shows the most enthusiasm when working with me. He's joyful with a lot of personality. He's inquisitive, physically and mentally quick, and likes to be kept busy at all times but also doesn't mind an evening lounging around on the couch.

| Brit, I loved reading your novel about Jackson. I can't get enough of Jackson. LEVI - also known as Levite, Lil Man, Lil Bit, Bitty, Bittles, Bitty Boo, Boo Bear, Red, Leviathon, Hairy....the little love of my life! Levi, to me, is the perfect little bundle of happiness and craziness. He constantly makes me laugh. At three and a half years old, he is still HYPER and has the constant curiosity of a puppy. He loves to investigate, especially when the doorbell rings. He runs and explores and is just the funniest little thing ever. He's a wild man. I always joke that he doesn't nap, because he will rarely lay down and nap while I am with him. He is always on the go. He is also super friendly. He has never met someone or something he does not immediately like. He is great with other animals and with kids. He is quite charming. He has all of my friends and family members (and of course me) wrapped around his little paw. He loves to travel, and is quite well-behaved when we visit other people's houses. He is not much of a cuddler or a snuggler - but he does LOVES to be talked to and played with. He likes to be around me at all times. He always looks and acts like pure happiness. He is resilient, and doesn't let anything get him down. He plays and he runs and he gives me kisses and sits by my feet. I love him for his craziness and mischievousness - he brings so much happiness to me every day!

| How fun! Well, I have 3! Zoe is my oldest and she is my best buddy. She's very intuned to me and very bright too. She rules the rest of the dogs and can be tough on them but no matter how nasty she sounds, she is just putting them in their place and not hurting them. She loves to go on walks and play fetch with the little tennis balls and likes to cuddle at my feet. Then I have Libby who is Zoe's daughter. She is just the sweetest dog and gets along with everyone, dog or man. She is the one that when people come to visit, they want to steal. She's very submissive but also tends to be the chattiest of the 3. She is supposed to be my oldest son's dog but really, they are pretty much all mine. She likes to cuddle but she's not particularly choosey about who's lap. Then I have Mickey. I purchased Mickey to show him and he is all boy! He's so different in some ways than the girls. He is supposed to be my youngest son's dog. It's funny that the girls will cuddle on your lap but when they feel like it but Mickey is happy to be picked up and carried around like a baby. If I'm on the computer, he gets up on my lap and gently touches my face with his paw as if to say, pay attention to me! He is definitly into mischief more than the girls and is the only one of the 3 that I do not trust off leash. He is a master of escape and has been known to climb the expen to get out or climb the fence outside. He is very good about finding some way of escape however, he is not so thrilled with strangers so the one time he got out and I was driving around the neighborhood looking for him and one of the neighbors around the corner was walking and I stopped her and asked if she'd seen my dog and she said yes, he was in my yard and I tried to get him and I chased him all the way back to your house and he went back into your yard! He's quite a character! They each are different and unique and I love different things about them but Zoe has a way of looking at me that makes me feel we are connected in some way if that makes sense.... |

| Thor also has many names dust mite, termite, cujo just depends on what he is into or doing. He is known all over town and doggie treats never have to be bought since all his friends in town keep them on hand for him. He has not met a person he does not like and is always willing to show off his high five and drop and roll tricks he has learned. His favorite store is Lowes because he gets to ride on the flat carts when we are making wood purchases. He amazes me everyday with how smart he is and how he remembers everything! Thor has won my hear and in the few months I've had him, he has shown me unconditional love and given me hundreds of reasons to smile and laugh. |

| Suzi my first puppy ever as a independant adult. I use to have cats , But my son is highly allergic. So Suzi will always hold a special place in our hearts. She is now 3 years old. I would say she is a darker colored yorkie, and now that her hair has grown out her golden attibutes really have taken a shine. The top of her head is now a ashen color , I look at her everyday all the time and wonder if the top of her head will become lighter . She is super active , loves everybody, and is also a amazing watchdog. If she can't see you and only hears you , be prepared to get a earful. I now know her different types of barking. YES , they really do have different types. The alarming bark, excited barking, ect. And oh did I mention how smart she is? Smart as can be. My son even trained her to Stay ... She does not move off his bed when he opens his door. It is funny, my little Suzi has now become "his dog" Suzi is more happy when my son is home. She hears the bus and alerts me by barking at me, looking right at me, as if to say the bus is heeerrrrre ! It is especially interesting because my son is no ordinary kid... He has autism with cognitive delays. Who knew that my first dog ever , A 7-10 pound Yorkie would steal my son's heart. She has. And now reffered to "my Dog" by my son. well Suzi loves me too, but they share a strong bond. I have a Shih Tzu. A 2 yr old , laid back little Tzu. Remarkably the same size as Suzi, and perhaps a little more on the fragile side. She is more petite. Miely is her name, and she has become my shadow. She is a AKC very beautiful Shih Tzu. Less high strung though then the little terrior Suzi. Miely paws at my arm, or hand all the time for attention. I also seen her do this to Suzi too. Funny little Miely girl. She is not as bold as Suzi. But just a little sweetheart. both Miely and Suzi could fit into my hands when I first brought them home. They have turned out to be the best of friends. Thank goodness! But Suzi definately is the stronger personality. These are who I call my girls. They have stolen our hearts forever. 2 little beauties. I never knew what I was missing. I was nearly 40 yrs old until I first brought a puppy in our home. Yes I grew up with Poms, so Yes again to the smaller toy breeds. They are absolutely amazing companions, and forever close to us always.
