| ![]() I'm sorry you have to be kept out of your own backyard. Everyone has given good advice here. Hopefully, this will be resolved quickly.

| ![]() oh wow.. I am so sorry you have to go through this. I think you just need to be careful, the renter do not sound like nice people. Take video, pictures and keep a log of what is going on. Go to city hall and find what laws there are to help you. If the landlord does not take care of the problem she could be sued if someone is hurt by the dogs. I know it is a touchie subject, but I just wonder on SOME of the people who choose to have pitbulls and not train them to be social. I am like you, I would be very upset and afraid if this was my neighbor!!! I wish you luck Shinja

Are you in the city limits? There isn't any specific policy related to owning pits, but there are definitely policies about annoying dogs. There is a section on the CMPD website about "nuisance animals" - Nuisance Animals Good luck and I hope it works out for you! Sounds like the homeowner is at least trying to correct the situation.

| ![]() Your own yard needs to be secure enough- you may have to add height to your fence- whatever it takes to prevent dogs from getting into your yard.

| ![]() I'm very happy to say that the issue has been resolved. The landlord took care of it, and the mean dogs are gone. Now I'm sure that there will be some bitterness from the neighbor, but we'll be alright. (:

| ![]() Good to hear you and your family are safe in your own yard now! Those neighbors didn't sound very friendly anyway, so it probably is no loss if they don't socialize much. I think you and their landlord were very right to be concerned about dogs of that size and strength not properly secured. |

| ![]() I am glad that you do not have to deal with the pit bulls anymnore. However, I would take caution , because the neighbors might want to get even... I still would watch my yorkies like a hawk when they are outside. The neighbors could turn around and say that your dogs bark troo much or make something up or even worse.... i hope they leave you and your family alone, but honestly be on high alert.

| ![]() I ordered that Bark Repellent (push a button/emits sound dogs can hear) to help stop mine from barking. Found out it worked on the neighbor dogs (big aggressive monsters) from across our yard and theirs! Only had to use it off my deck 3 or 4 times toward their yard and they haven't bothered us since (a year ago) They were so big and so mean if we went off the deck and into the yard they'd try to get over to get us. I was so afraid I refused to go out there...the bark repellent (amazon) was a miracle...though I must say it didn't stop mine from barking that much - worked a little on them. But permanently stopped the neighbor's dogs (they now run when they see me come out). ![]()

| ![]() One thing that I have found that works Very Well is to squirt them with the water hose when they start barking and/or growling and tell them NO as you are squirting them. Also I would deff call animal control as it is their dogs who are vicious and it is the responsibility of the owner of the vicious dog to have their dogs secured for everyones protection. It is Not Your responsibility to secure their dogs and their dogs WILL eventually go through that fence. If you try to talk to the owners of the vicious dogs it will most likely not go in your favor as it is already obvious that they have created the vicious dogs by lack of training so they have proven to not be responsible owners by that fact alone. It is irresponsible owners such as they that give the bully breeds the bad rep they have & sadly not the dogs fault but the owners. |
