| yorkie-poo First of all, congrats on your new addition. I hate to break it to you, but just because the parents are both 4 lbs does not mean the baby will be 4 lbs. Esspecially since it has poodle in it. The word "teacup" is nothing more than an advertisement line used to get more money out of smaller puppies or the runt of the litter. Some breeders even give away the smallest because runts are usually the least healthy and end up with the biggest vet bills. There is no way to guarantee how big or small a pup by the pound. There have been people on this site who have had yorkies grow to be 8 lbs from a 4 lb mother. I hope you asked the breeder alot of questions, the stud is supposed to be smaller than the female, I have no idea why she bred against that. Make sure you get a 1 year health guarantee. I don't believe the new puppy would be a good canidate for breeding because the smaller the dog is the more likely she will be to need a c-section. I believe you would have a hard time selling 75% yorkie 25%poo mixes because technically they wouldn't be considered a yorkie-poo anymore. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. |

| pup My son is 3 as well. I made sure to look for a yorkie that was not going to be in the smaller catagory. Be VERY careful with them when they play together. My son even has experience with the pug and has had the cat since he was a baby, but I still don't let him pick her up or be alone with her. Take some time to read the sick/injured boards of some of the stuff that happens to tinies. Not long ago someone's 2 year old fell on a tiny puppy and killed it. It seems like they're always breaking their legs by jumping off of the bed or out of arms. Poor babies, I always feel so sad for the families. I even had an instance last week where my son and the puppy were in the front of the cart and the puppy fell through the hole and into the bottom part. It was really scarey. Just keep a good eye on both of them. |

| Your gonna have to be real careful with a yorkie that small and that young of a child. Theyre have been small yorkies on here that have been dropped and ided or broke a leg. The little ones are very fragile. I have a smaller yorkie she is 5 lbs and she doent like my daughter to hold her so sometimes the little ones are afraid of children also.

I wouldn't tape the ears...you have 2 different breeds there. If you want to see if her ears were meant to go up from the Yorkie side, just keep all the hair trimmed off .... ask the breeder to do it while she still has the pup. This will increase the chances of standing. I am so glad to hear you decided not to breed, I think you would regret it. As far as the name.....I would suggest you pick it. When you let a small child pick a Christmas tree, it is one thing because it is gone in a month. However, if all goes well, you will have your little Yorkie-Poo for 12-15 years. I'd work on a name in regard to the pups parent's names maybe mixed togehter, a place you love, a food you love, a name you love, or just wait and see how the pup acts and pick then. Although, I like "Amera" | |
