YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Stolen? dog found toronto news this am So listening to the radio news this morning; apparently a woman had her dog taken; she had leashed/tied up her pet outside a Loblaws(grocery store) at Bayview and Eglinton (a good part of town) she was gone about 5 minutes and when she returned no dog. Well two days later a neighbour heard a dog barking on and on and on, in a home where she had never heard dogs before, so she called the police. When the police came to the door, they saw a dog that matched up to the two different colored eyes this lady's dog that was reported stolen. They seized the dog, reunited him with his owner. But get this; because they said they couldn't prove malicious intent, the guy who stole the dog was not charged.! Go figure.

| In the first place nobody should tie up their dog when they go into a store, I don't care how long they intend to be in there. That is like asking for trouble. If my dogs are not allowed in stores they stay home I think that's really stupid and the lady is lucky she got her dog back. |

| Yep, I've heard all kinds of stories about dogs tied up and abandoned at all kinds of places. I can't believe someone would leave their dog tied up outside a store.

| wow i live not too far from there, but when the weathers hot it's common to see people tieing their dogs up outside, i see it a lot downtown in the summer. If anything i think it's a hard lesson learned for the owner and hopefully sends a message to people who think this is a good idea. |

| Oh my, you never leave your dog unattended anywhere, car or tied up outside a shop, that is just asking for your dog to be taken, would you leave your baby in a pram outside a shop? no. Silly silly woman.

| some people.... First of all you dont tie your dog up in a public place. Would you tie your kid up and leave them out there until you decided to come back out? I dont know if I would have taken the dog but I would definitely waited to let the owner know my opinion of her decision. always have a bag (puppy purse) with you so if a last min situation arises where you need to run in a store you will be prepared. Dont leave them outside , or in a car. Bad parenting.

YT 1000 Club Member | If it's not Malicious Intent, then it's... Receiving Stolen Property or a collaboration of that. IF the Police actually wanted to pursue the issue they definitely had grounds. I bet if it had been a Felony action, they would have arrested the guy. But for a simple misdemenor....naaa
