| We just saw a hawk! OMG, I just took Mojo outside and I looked up into the tree at the back of the yard and there was a hawk watching us! Mojo is only 4.2lbs, so I'm certain he looked like a snack. Thank God Mojo did his business quickly, though the hawk had already flown off in the two seconds it took me to snatch Mojo up. That had my heart rate going, let me tell you! Please everyone, remember to never let your little ones go outside by themselves! It only takes a second and they'd be gone.

| Thank Goodness you were with Mojo. My twin sister had a toy poodle weighing around 6 pounds. She lives a block away. A hawk came down and grabbed Bozo. It dropped him before he flew over the backyard fence. Bozo was a mess and was rushed to the vet which had to do skin graphs and surgeries. Took months to heal and get his hair back. Since the I DO NOT let my little ones in my backyard alone. I saw a hawk in my yard once a month after it happened and it scares me to much. We live within the city limits of Sacramento. I would have never thought they'd be in the city. |

| We saw a hawk flying over our neighborhood yesterday when we went to run some errands. We have woods behind our house so now I am terrified during the day of hawks and terrified of owls at night!! I'm always begging Pita to hurry, hurry so we can go in! |

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | I've heard the owls can be pretty bad too. I'm going to go buy one of those super shooter squirt guns this year and let those hawks know I mean business!!!

| Would a ten pound Yorkie be safe from a hawk? I have never seen one myself but my neighbors have. I would hate to not let Hershey run around outside. He loves the backyard and sitting by the gate watching people walk by. Hershey is 10 pounds but he looks so small. I worry about this too. |

| I worry about the same thing. We have some mighty big birds hanging out in the farmers field behind us, I also hear owls hooting. I watch Teddie as right now he is only a little over 7 pounds...heck, I worry my 14 pound chunker pom would look like a snack too to all of these big birds. I read somewhere that 120 mph attack (which is what their attack speed feels like according to some sites) from a bird like these will snap an animals spine...not something I would want to have happen to any of my pets.
