| How much does your little "cupcake" or tiny eat.. Harley is barely 4lbs. he is about 1.75 years old. and he's been a pig lately, he's being exercised a little bit more, but his appetite has really increased. So I'm wondering how much food your tiny babies eat per day? I used to free feed, but now I measure, I just don't want to under feed him. He eats: -1/8 cup heaping in the morning/night of NOW! grain free kibble 1 "ice cube" thawed of sardines in the morning/night so he's eating over 1/4 cup a day now plus sardines, if it is a training day he eats a lot of treats. Now I have started reducing food treat amounts and using a toy, maybe he's just more hungry because of that... If I increase it a little will he be eating too much? What I do is a fill little containers with 1/8 cup kibble and try to only give him 2 a day, yesterday he went through 3 of them (1 at 8am, 1 around 2pm and 1 around 8pm) Just wanted to check and see what amounts your tiny ones are eating.

| Oh and people tell me he isn't under/over weight, ie the pet boutique I shop at and the vet said he's good weight. So I'm really confused... cause the girl at the store has a 10lb dog who eats between 1/3 and 2/3 a cup per day, she's double Harley's size. UGH why is nutrition complex.

| If hes not overweight or should medically be restricted, then why worry? All dogs have diff metabolisms. If hes maintaining then I would leave him. He seems quite active. Things might change as he gets older but I wouldnt be fixated on his amt of kibble just yet. Gl You need to gauge your own pet and not compare him to the dog next door. Just like humans, dogs vary

| My two aren't tiny- 5 and 6 pounds- but they both eat 1/2 cup of food per day. If I add extras in, I just reduce the amount of food slightly for that meal.

| Rio and Bullet are both 3.5 lbs, and I free feed them. But if I had to measure, they probably eat about 1/4 cup each, but it's spread throughout the day as they nibble. They're also midnight snackers so they usually grab a few bites in the middle of the night on their way back in from a potty break.

| Our yorkie is just under 4 lb and 2 years old. We feed him 3 primal raw nuggets a day plus treats. 1/8 cup kibble seems little to me but I guess it depends on what kind of kibble it is. When we did kibble, we did Origen and fed him by hand 2 times a day. I just fed until he stopped wanting it. I don't know how many cups that was but I think maybe between 1/3 to 1/2? Not sure. And he's always been on the thin side though now he seems to be a very good weight. Hope someone else whose a kibble feeder can help. |

| Zoe eats about 1/8 cup twice a day, plus several treats. But no people food. She's 3 lbs. and this seems to work. I have to feed her by hand, and just feed her 'til she's full (and burps )

| Well maybe Harley isn't much of a piggy I just don't want him to wind up being overweight... He is also a midnight snacker, and he also chows down and burps when he's finished

| Marley would eat about 4 meals a day if she could...but I give her two meals a day + some treats. I haven't weighed her in awhile but last time I checked she was almost 4 lbs.
