| My yorkie has tuened into a teapot ! It was only last month that I bought a bag of Evo. Mainly for my Shih Tzu who looked like she needed to put on weight. So I mixed the evo in with their Welness super 5 , small breed. It has helped the shih Tzu , However, now Suzi looks like she has gained some weight, not fat , but stalky, more muscle weight. Plus her hair has grown out some, so she looks even bigger. I think My "little" Suzi ate more of the Evo , then Miely . Suzi was about 7 pounds , now I think she has gained a couple more... It is hard to tell with all her hair, but even my son made a comment. I did not expect in just a months time this could happen. Evo is a very expensive food too, so I guess it is better just to keep them on the Wellness only. I noticed that Suzi got a lot stronger too. And plays a little too rough with Miely, who is smaller. Suzi pins her down during playtime, and playfully growls at her, she has never hurt Miely, but makes me nervous.

| Which Evo did you get? Their Red Meat version has one of the highest calorie counts I've seen in the better foods at 527 calories/cup. I think the other Evo versions have a lot of calories too, with the Herring coming in at *only* 456 calories/cup. That would definitely pack weight on them fast if you're feeding the same amount of Evo as you do the Wellness.

| Yes it was the red meat , small bites . I did feed them more of the wellness though. But, i am done with the evo. I do not need overweight dogs, it is just too high in protein , even though that is suppose to be good. Not for small dogs though. Neither of my two have any liver or kidney problems , however, they do not need to put on that much weight. It is scary that it has only been a month! I can already tell the weight gain.

| Yeah, EVO is insane on the calories. You'd have to feed SO little. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it. Plus, with the P&G buy out, too. How much were you feeding? Jackson is a healthy 16lbs and eats 1/2 cup of Acana kibble per day (which is about 430 kcals/cup).... anymore of that food and he'd probably gain weight, too (though he does get wet food and treats as well).
