What exactly is a parti yorkie?

Thanks for all info. I just wanted to know why the parti yorkie was not listed on Reg paper and if it could be akc. Where I could get the info. I finally got my answer. Sorry for such a touchy subject. I dont really now what questions are ok to ask now. . Its everyones op on what they like and we all have different ones. That was not the question anyways. To focused on you alls argument to answer a simple question about Akc info nothing more or nothing less. I did not expect so many rude coments.=[ Hope you all can quit fighting. I have had litters before with other dogs and I will not breed tell I know everything about the yorkie breed . They all are so pretty=). Thanks Trisha

That's very wise of you, glad you have decided to wait until you know more. After about five years or more of studying the breed, attending shows, learning under a mentor, then you will be much better prepared to breed Yorkies to ideally improve the breed or at the minimum breed healthy to standard dogs.

Why can't the parti breeders, fanciers and just others that want to learn discuss parti's in a thread without the ones that do not like them always coming in and making snide remarks. If You don't like them thats fine but always disrupting the parti threads with your anti parti prejudice comments is really disgusting.

Trishaandtim here is part of the letter from AKC allowing the parti and a pic of the bottom part of the AKC application and what you put on it to register a parti color. You must send in Pictures of your parti with the application. The code for parti markings is 014.

The subject has been beat to death!
It's the only time that some people participate AND it always end in the thread getting heated and finally locked.
Her question has been answer so no need for this to go on for 50 pages as per usual.

For the record, I don't have an issue with Partis Take a look at my Bogey......he's sure looks like a Parti to me and many others agree with me too. Bogey is a PARTI! My Doodlebug looks like every Golden Yorkie that I have ever seen advertised for sale both as a puppy and now as an adult. So why do you think I have a problem with Partis?

It's the nastiness that goes along with the Parti threads that I can't stomach. I didn't even know that Parti's existed until I came to YT. Up until I started paying attention to the tone and attacks on the Parti threads I didn't have an opinion one way or another. But believe me, after some of the things that I have read on all those locked threads it pretty much sealed the deal for me along with many others that silently read the repetitive postings regarding the Parti debate. But after bringing it to everyone's attention that is what has turned me off to the Parti THREADS.

Now that I have opened my mouth and spoke my mind ~ let the attacks begin. There pretty much isn't anything left to be said about me at this point-short of telling everyone that I raise wolves.

Alot of new people do not know that you all have beat the subject to death. So they learn by new threads being posted and parti breeders answering. Not by some of you continuously berating the parti breeders in every new thread that is opened by new members asking.

Who is "you all" Are you referring to me? I've never really posted in Parti threads and mostly just read them trying to figure out why they go on for days and days. I love my boys and do not want anyone to think less of them because they are not a traditional Yorkie's colors. They are both blonde and have no blue or black anywhere to be found. I always thought they were less Yorkie then all the traditional colors but you all swayed to me realize they are just not traditional in color. Bogey and Doodlebug are my beautiful babies no matter what anyone says

The YTCA has it posted on their website that the parti is a designer mix and the public should not be fooled into buying one. I LOVE and find comfort in the FACT that parti pups from top show lines (and a YTCA breeder) were lucky enough to be born in the hands of a breeder who didn't see the need to "dispose" of them, and keep it hush hush. This will happen more and more now that the show lines "dirty little secret's" keep slipping out.

LOL! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this debate! The long and short of it is...... YTCA is NOT going to change its standard. I am neutral on this subject because I believe the Parti's are beautiful and deserve their place..... with that said..

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Horse Showing/ registry BUT.... There is this little story about The American Quarter Horse. They have strict standards concerning white. It can't go above the knee, and it is only allowed to cover a certain percentage of the face. Registered Quarter Horses started "cropping out" with white... these horses were considered a flaw, and not allowed to show.

Sooner or later someone got smart and started the Paint Horse Club of America..... They are basically a "colored" Quarter Horse. Now if a Paint has a "throw back" that is solid it is considered " breeding stock" because it "carries" the color gene recessively. A Homozygenous (sp) stallion is worth a lot of money because it takes the guess work out of whether you will get your color.

The long and short of what I am saying is.... Why bother with papers if you will never be able to show the qualities of what it is you are breeding in your line? The only way to do so is to have it separated from the line. It is too bad AKC can't see this... or does it take the breeders of the Parti line to do this?

On a last note... I thought AKC was now recognizing Biewer as its on Registered Line?

The American Quarter Horse Assoc (AQHA) and the American Morgan Horse Assoc (AMHA) both had the high white rule, which denied registration to horses with white above the knee but due to many people fighting to have those rules changed, in 1996 AMHA rescinded the rule and a few years later so did AQHA. Now horses with white above the knee can be registered. My AMHA mare produced one of the first registered high white foals (also duel registered with a pinto registry) a few month after the repeal ... so moral of the story is that things DO and CAN change in breed clubs and registries.
