Yorkie or Yorkshire Terrier?

Nah, I usually say Yorkshire terrier if I'm not sure how much the person knows about dogs. Yorkie doesn't tell them much if hey don't know the breed.

But there have been times when I say yorkie and people go all "Oh, so she is not a yorkshire terrier then?, thats what I thought cause she's so small"

It makes me sooo upset!! specially because both my babies are small, even though Mel is 8 pounds she is tall but slim... and these people are like "they are supossed to be 3lbs or they are not really pure breed"... what about watch soem dog 101 and stop being so stupid!! wwoooozzaaahhh!!

I say Yorkies (I have 2).
If someone asks me to repeat it or asks me what that is then I say Yorkshire Terriers.

Funny thing is that they usually know what they are then.

I usually say Yorkie. It's just quicker and easier.

Once, a woman asked what type of dog Belle was and I said Yorkshire Terrier... she responded by saying, "Oh, so she's a Yorkie mixed with some kind of terrier?"

I say yorkie most of the time. I get the questions like "is it a rat?? lol" not funny or "omg.. and furious ankle biter" also not funny.
Most of the time people say oh how cute.. is that a yorkie? I mostly have her dressed up when she is out.

I have my speech ready when asked if she is a teacup.. one time a lady asked if she was a toy.. I started my speech about half way through I realized she was just asking if she was in the "toy" group. She really didn't know much about the different breads or yorkies.

Now.. at home she is my furbaby, my cuddle monster well... when I can get her away from dh!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem. I'm the one who wanted Brandy, and who do you think she prefers to sit with? Which she is doing now, but she is looking at me with those cute puppy dog eyes
