| YT 1000 Club Member | OLD TTHREAD OOPS!!!! Right on time for coat weather! 1) A hood is a must! We get more rain here than I thought possible plus it gets a bit windy. 2) I prefer the jacket to have a D ring so I dont have to put on a harness underneath. I don't want my pup to feel too constricted 3) No sleeves. He doesn't like them because of the constriction I think. 4) I am a fan of zippers. I feel they're more secure and there's no way he would be able to get out of one(zipper along back is preferred). 5) Full coverage please * if you plan on doing these in time for November/December please let me know. I haven't bought Rasta a coat yet but he will need one when the weather gets cold and we go on our daily walks. Last edited by ColesMommy01; 10-15-2013 at 09:42 AM. Reason: old thread |

| Oh dear I probably shouldn't have bumped this thread I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. All is done. The jackets are made and hopefully will be up on the website today!

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Oops! Didn't see it was an old thread. Good questions. 1. Do you prefer a hood? Not practical for the reason you cite. 2. Must it have a D-Ring attachment on the jacket itself? No. My harnesses go over the coats. A d ring isn't as secure. A hole in coat works but can be a hassle finding the harness underneith. 3. Do you like sleeves? No. Restricts movement, which is what you really need for warmth. 4. Velcro or zipper closure? Velcro. 5. If attached around dog's belly do you prefer full coverage or one strap under the belly? Strap but as wide as comfortably possible. 4-5 inches. Thanks again.[/QUOTE]

| I like the look of hoods but not to use them. On some of joel things I permanently sew the hoods back so they aren't in the way, but they do look cool |

| YT 2000 Club Member | 1. I like hoods for style. 2.Prefer the slit instead of attached to the coat. 3. I do like like sleeves, but not ones restricting their movement. 4. I like velcro or slip over. 5. I prefer a covered belly, as my yorkies are on the smaller side and they need the extra warmth. 6. I think light weight, but warm is the best for my yorkies.

| 1. No. I prefer without. It doesnt mean that just bc it had a hood that I wouldnt buy it. So I guess its not that imoortant. I just prefer without unless it were to be a rain coat. Then obviously I would want it for the added protection. 2. No. D ring attatchment isnt a must. Although if it does have one already attatched. I think about how easily it may come off. As far as quality. So thats a concern if its very thin with little support. Im also a big quality and comfort person. 3. Doesnt make a difference. 4. Zipper. Velcro catches hair too easily. 5. Either way. Although if its a coat. Full coverage may be more efficent in keeping pup warmer.
