| ![]() When I was growing up naming my stuffed animals and dolls was a very lengthy process and it turned out it was the same with Callie lol. After getting her it took us over 30 minutes to get home and I held her the hole way, I got on the floor and played and layed with her for another 45 minutes or so and my mom looked at me and said ok you have to name her come on and some how Callie popped into my head.

| ![]() Well we didnt know what we were going to name Chachi but me and My Husband were watching a Happy Days special and we saw the character Chachi and it just hit me that was a cute and unusual name and My Husband agreed so we named him Chachi. With Jewels my Breeder had a male dog named Jules and My then 5 yr old Daughter liked the name so she asked if we could name her Jewels so we did. I have never been regretful of the names I just love them and they fit their personality also. My Daughter has went on to name our cats too and we have a Cutie pie, twinkle, pumpkin, miracles and masqurade. I really think she came up with some cute and creative names and they fit them

| ![]() Welcome to YT to all the newbies. My oldest daughter bought and named our Moka then she left for college leaving Moka with us. It was planned this way, but we give her a hard time about it and let her know that she's not getting Moka back when she's done with school and thank her often for buying her for us. Moka has been a wonderful companion during the transition of my daughter leaving home. We love Moka so much, that 2 years later when my youngest daughter was preparing to leave home, we decided to get another dog for the same reasons. To help with the transitions. So, on Thanksgiving 2009 we got Mylee. Since we had a beautiful horse named Matty, a dog name Moka, we needed a "M" name. Since my husband is a life long Dallas Cowboys fan, and they always play on Thanksgiving, and that's when we got Mylee, it was only fitting to name her Mylee (Miles Austin).

| ![]() When I got my baby boy (that I love sooo sooo much) he was the runt of the liter, very tiny and timid and the woman who I bought him from named him of all things: no-name ![]() He was only 8 weeks old, (i didnt know that she was a BYB in the making at that point). I wanted him to have a nice big strong name and so being Italian-American from NYC's Little Italy I named him ROCCO. And he is now 10 months old tomorrow and a very social, smart, well trained, and handsome boy. I have two nicknames for him: bushqualini and bushky. I always call him bushky unless he does something bad then its Rocco and once I use that stern Rocco sound he knows he is going to be in the dog-house... ![]()

| ![]() This thread is a great idea! I have had a lot of fun reading everyone's stories. My first little yorkie I name Cricket when I got her at 8 wks of age (I have learned - way too young!). She was a little black puff of fur that chirped and hopped around like a Cricket. My second yorkie, Gidget, I got after Cricket passed. The husband wanted to name the 2nd one Cricket (he loved the name). I talked him into Gidget because it rhymed with Cricket (I know, I was not very creative with the second one's name - poor Gidget!). |

| ![]() I wanted a really Scottish name so I thought Iona. Then chatting to my mum one day she said it sounded more for a girl than a boy, we got yapping, her last name is McTigue (mcteeg) and growing up the neighbourhood referred to her fammily as the Tigueys. So dad popped his head in and we asked what he preferred Iona or Teegy, he said Teegy and that's how he got his name, my parents. Nicknames: Teegy Boo Teegy Bum ma wee monkey ma wee lambchop ma wee angel tiny drawers |

| ![]() This is really fun! When I got Baxter, his name was Peanut... I didn't really care for it, and he never really responded to it. I have no idea where I came up with Baxter, but the second I said it his ears perked up and he looked at me sideways like "what?" and it stuck! His many nicknames: Bax Boo Boo Puppy Runt B Dog

So thats how we have Baily, nickname dusty. By the way this was a grat idea. Thank you, beege ![]()

| ![]() Roxie came with her name...her previous owner gave it to her because apparently it was part of the mommy dog's name. It fits her, so I just left it. She does have a ton of nicknames that I have given her...and she actually responds to some of those! Roxalina Foxy Roxie Stinky Brat Poo Stinkapotomus (I just think this one is funny and I can't let it go)
