| My dogs have eaten soft food their whole lives and have excellent teeth due to regular brushing along with regular vet care. I definitely believe brushing is a must.

| I brush her teeth every other day to every 3 days (that is if i completely forget) and i give her greenies once a week and twistix once a week so they get 2 dental treats a week. Then i add plaque off to all of her meals. I am thinking about getting her water additives but i think that might be going over board. For coco's toothpaste i actually use one that requires no brushing. So i just put in on my pinky and rub it on her teeth. its definately hard to do but with more practice, she'll get used to it quickly. i find it it help when you're sitting down with your knees up and prop your dog on the slant of your legs (the thigh area). (sorry im not very good at describing but hope you understand)

| I would say its a def. yes to brush the teeth or at least use the Petzlife gel or something similar. I rescued a 5 yr. old yorkie she has severe teeth issues, some will need to be pulled, so my answer is yes! always brush!

| Thank you to everyone for the great advice - so much for the easy way LOL! I'll go have a discussion with Darwin & Mabel and let them know how important brushing is - do you think that would help?? Thanks again and I'll look into some better products that were mentioned! It's really appreciated! |
