| Hello everyone! Hi everyone my name is Kathy and I am a new mom to what a believe to be a 6 lb yorkie. Let me tell you the story. Shooter was found while our rescue was pulling a lab out of a gassing facility in Louisiana. The shelter was closed when we arrived but on the doorstep in a box was an approx. 7 week old lab puppy who had died and shooter. We could not leave him there - he would have died. He was taken to the vet and given a good grooming. Once he was groomed we noticed his front legs - exrays were done and it was determined he suffered from birth defects not trauma. He was neutered, given a physical - a dental and all his shots. Has anyone ever seen this kind of decfect - I really don't know much about Yorkies - I have 6 other dogs ranging from a beagle to a greyhound. They are all rescues. This guy breaks my heart but makes me smile at the same time. He doesn't use his front legs much. If the pain becomes unbearable we will have to look at other options - the vet says surgery is out of the question. it is like his bones are backwards. Anyway meet my "Shooter!" http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...efore-Copy.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...fore2-Copy.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...leguesswho.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...ooter-Copy.jpg |

| Hi Kathy and welcome to you and Shooter. I remember his story, it was first posted in our Rescue section I believe when he was first found. I am so happy he has a forever home with you. I can't give you any advice about his leg's as I have never seen anything like this before. He sure is a sweet looking baby.

| Bless you for saving that poor little guy, such a sweet face he has. I've never seen that problem with his legs either but I know that they make little "wheelchair" type things for dogs that can't use their back legs, idk if it would work on the front (maybe not )but it may be worth looking into.

| Welcome to YT. I remember when Pam posted him on here. Congratulations on saving him. There are other options for him. Perhaps a cart? Have you consulted an orthopedic surgeon to be positive that surgery is not an option for him? Also, here is a link to Pam's thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...932-addys.html
