| Need thoughts and opinons.. Ok, its now declared truthfull, I am a pain in the butt..lol..But I have , yes another, question..lol..Ok Foxy goes back for the last series of her shots on April 28th..After that they will schedule her spay and dental . My question to you guys is this..The vet wants to do her spay and dental at the same time because of the anesthesia. But the vet tech said it would take her a good hour to clean Foxy's teeth, not including if any need to be pulled. Now the vet assured me this is completely safe because the monitor body temp ,etc and if anything becomes an issue they will wake her up. But Im kinda concerned that this is putting her under too long..The dental plus the spay.I am going to call them for the to reassure me, but do you guys have any thoughts or words of wisdom? Thanks!

| Im gonna let someone respond whose actually done this or knows about it because honestly it would make me nervous also. Ive had spay and teeth pulled before but it seems like a dental would take awhile. On the other hand there is risk every time you put them under so I can see why the vet would want it done at once. If you are uncertain you can call another vets office though and see what they do. I wish you luck with your decision

| I had Daisy's fractured tooth removed and her teeth x-rayed, cleaned, and polished, and she was in and out of surgery in less time than it took me to drive home to Providence from Boston (a 50 minute drive). I know LadyJane has done both procedures with many of the foster pups, so you might want to send her a PM and ask! Ellie May also may know.

| The dental and the spay can be done together.

| I have said before, but my Chloe had a spay and liver biopsy at the same time, this is a pretty invasive surgery and she was out a long time. They had her on a heating pad and kept an eye on her vitals the whole time. Once the surgery was over she was kept on the heating pad and had her own tech who was assigned just to stay with her until she was totally alert. She did great. As long as they are monitoring her, which it sounds like they are going to do everything should be fine. I think I would go with your vets advice on this. Good luck.
