| ![]() Hi there! Welcome to YT and god bless you for saving this little one! I am a FIRM believer in fate, and it sounds like you two are meant for each other. I am no expert by any means, but a sucker for a sad little soul, and I think you should keep her and who knows she may have another wonderful few years, and just think how happy she would be with you! I myself recently rescued a sad little one, and she is blossoming into quite a flower. God bless you again!

| ![]() Your story just brought tears to my eyes. You are wonderful for saving her and letting her know what it feels like to be as special as she is. If I were in your shoes I would keep her. You have a lot of love to give to this little girl and she sure needs to be loved. God Bless you.

| ![]() Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, and heartfelt replies. I read them all, and had a good, long, hard cry. You'll never know how I've agonized about all these decisions. I felt so alone. I am so glad I reached out here. I feel so encouraged now about Lucy's care and treatment. I am educated now, and I do know there is a risk that things might not go well, but I'm willing to try and give it my best shot. It's the least I can do for this little princess. Now it's time to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I'll make her surgery appointment today for her teeth and tumors. Her blood work came back yesterday and it was great. The Anipryl seems to be working, and we both slept through the night. Yay for sleep! I'm going to research if a generic form of the medication is available. I got her steps and footstools yesterday to help her get safely onto the sofa, easy chair and bed. Medicated shampoo and a good diet should help the dermatitis. We'll work on her problems one by one. Well, I guess this makes it official. I am a Yorkie mom. Yay! From the looks of things, I'm in pretty good company around here. You guys are just the best. I will continue to read and learn as much as I can from the site. There is such a wealth of information here about so many different topics, and I need to get up to speed quickly. I'll stay in touch, and let everyone know how it's going. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the kindness. I'll celebrate and cling to each of your words in the good times, and be comforted during the sad and sleepless nights. Hugs, Kim - Lucy's Mom (wow, that sounds good, doesn't it?)

| ![]() I think that it is so cool to have rescued this little senior yorkie. now she can live out her days in a safe, loving home. I admire you for this. I am thinking you will have a lot of rewards for taking her in , she will give back to you lots of love . I thnk a rescue dog always is the most lovable pet ever. Welcome to YT and sharing your story.

| ![]() It sounds like Lucy got a miracle the day you found her! Cricket had dermatitis issues. The vet gave me some shampoo for her (had an oatmeal in it) which greatly soothed her itching. Maybe your vet would have something similar for you. Just looked up the name for you - Pramoxine with Colloidal Oatmeal - hope it helps. Please keep in touch...we'll be keeping you and princess Lucy in our prayers! |

| ![]() Lucy and you found each other. It is meant to be for whatever time she has. How wonderful that she will have love and joy in her life after all she has been through. Right now your instinct is to give her a chance, so go with it. What a beautiful story about you and your Lucy. |
