| Yorkie pup almost home Hello everyone, I am new and very excited about our newest addition to our home. His name is Archie and he is only 4 weeks old, today. We won't be able to bring him home for at least 4 more weeks but we are getting prepared, and having fun doing it. I found this site and was thrilled to see all the information. |

| You've Come to the Right Place! Congratulations and HOLD onto your heart, it's about to be stolen by a little bundle of fluff. Seriously, you will learn so much if you post questions, read, and do. I can't thank everyone here enough. Bella was our first dog and we have/had so much to learn. Don't be afraid to ask for help. There are members here that are real YORKIE experts. They will help you in any way they can. You are going to love this little furbaby. Yorkies are a breed unique in so many ways. I've heard many members say that you don't want to take a Yorkie puppy before 12 weeks. 8-12 weeks is when the puppy learns alot from his/her mom and becomes socialized and learns to not bite. I hope your breeder will let you hold off for awhile so you have fewer new puppy issues to deal with. Be ready because they are like newborns when you bring them home. They are so much fun to love and cuddle but they take lots of time. Bella changed our lives forever and we can't imagine life without her. There were days when I felt overwhelmed by her training and care but there was always someone here to help and encourage. Keep us posted and be sure to share lots of pictures. Hide your credit cards now because there is just too much fun to be had shopping for these little cuties! |

| Hi and Welcome. Congratulations on your brand new baby. Can't wait to see pictures. But just like others said above me - don't bring him home at 8 weeks old - he will be too young to leave his mother and littermates. 12 weeks is recommended. You will be so in love. And don't forget you need to learn to do the shuffle around him. He will be at your feet at all times - LOL!!! Good luck with him.

| Question on Dog communication.. Hi Everyone, I have a yorkie boy which a few already know about. And recently got a biewer girl. They seem to get along well. But Austin, my yorkie, is bad! I recently noticed and heard from my parents that he likes to pull his sisters ear. The biewer. Why does he do this? Is he playing? Is he jealous? Quick summary. I had Austin since last July. He will be 1 in May. Chelsea is around 5-6 months old. I got her almost a month ago. Any doggie advise? Any wise answers, please don't post! Thank you!

| thanks to all who have written. We were considering waiting 10 weeks, but I guess a couple more weeks wouldn't hurt, if it was for Archies benefit. I have been reading Yorkie books and magazines and they said the minimum was 8 weeks but the longer you wait the more they learn from mom. So, thanks to all. When we bring him home we will each (hubby and I) be taking a week off, him one week and me another. We have already started shopping too...what fun! |
