None of this should be dealt with at all, let alone with a young lady with NO breeding experience and a dog that is under a year old.:thumbdown |
i wanted to add. this is like me have anywhere from 2-8 babies inside my belly all weighing about 10lbs each as a human example. That dog is 5lbs and those pups could be a 1/2 to a 1lb each. If there are 5 pups that's more than the mother weighs. think about trying to pass 5 ten lb babies through your birth canal...not happenin btw this is a very exaggerated example*** |

Wow. There is 118 posts on this thread. The girl needs to be spayed. She shouldn't be allowed to carry this pregnancy to whelp--it will mostly kill her. The poster knows this. The post should not be about Loren any more. It is about Bee. Either she wants Bee to live--spay her. Or she wants to whine to YT, about the mistakes she made, and she will let this girl whelp puppies that will probably kill her. Plain and simple. |

Again, breeding a smaller male to a larger female is a misnomer....more to consider that just that....one must know a dog's pedigree inside and out before mating the two .... It isn't always the female that is larger. But, think about it if you're breeding a yorkie to dachsund, poodle, schnauzer...you are breeding a mutt (and nothing mean about it)...... |
The title of your thread is "I am the worst mom ever".... Why not change this and be the best mom ever for Bee and get her spayed. Do you really want to face the possible consequences of Bee having these babies? Think about it like this...how would you feel if Bee was no longer in your life....would you be able to deal with that guilt? You do seem like you care for Bee deeply...so why would you even consider putting her through this? |

I've witnessed a pefectly healthy female yorkie of good size and bred to a normal sized yorkie.....5 pups concieved.....she carried well, healthy throughout the gestation period. Contractions begin, pup 1 whelped, pup 2 whelped, pup 3 whelped....things start lagging but pup 4 whelped.....now momma get's tired, things aren't progressing in the specified time-frame. Off we go to emergency. C-section.....mom had no more stamina or elasticity left to push out the last pup.....This was with normal size pups....Can you imagine what is going to happen to Bee.....these pups are from a larger breed, more than likely (if Bee is healthy throughout her gestation) get large. Will she dilate to pass them, will she have the stamina to deliver them all, her vaginal opening can rip. Not to mention her uterus can rip while the pups are in the gestation period....yep! big infection......So, many things to consider. |

I strongly believe that no animal should ever have to suffer. Since you know Bee was impregnanted by a much larger dog, the most humane thing to do is to have an emergency spay. How could you put Bee through this? It is bordering animal abuse. What exactly did you expect people to say to you when you posted your initial post? You came here for advice....you are getting advice from knowledgable EXPERIENCED breeders and your only response is that YOUR FEELINGS ARE HURT? What about Bee? Shouldn't this be about HER? And what is best for HER? |

Well, the OP has logged in recently, just hasn't given any updates. I suppose her feelings were hurt to bad because of the concern YTr's have for Bee's health. OP please give updates and let us know how Bee is and what you've decided to do. |
