Fritz left yesterday for his furever home, so I had room for another baby.

Pocket was seized from a puppy mill in Lakeland (info in the News section)
They say he is around 9 years old, but I don't think so.
Poor thing hasn't a single tooth. When he was rescued he only had three teeth left, and the vet had to pull them today. He also has "immature" cataracts. He was also neutered today before they brought him to me.

He weighs 6lb 3ozs, but he looks so tiny - probably because he is shaved down.
He is so precious.

He is not really going to be eating the dry dog food. I just put him down so I could take a picture of him. He is sleeping in the pen now.

When Pocket was dropped off about 30 minutes ago I said to the lady who did the transportation that I didn't know if it was a good idea for me to take him as I probably wouldn't want to let him go.
But I know when he is healthy and socialized enough to go to a furever home I will be happy for him.

Oh Syliva, you are so kind. I saw the report on the news today. They showed Lori and all the dogs at the vet getting ready for adoption or foster. Pocket is adorable; hopefully he'll find his furever home real soon!

Oh, he breaks my heart having to live as he apparently has had to all these years. He's a lucky little boy to now live with you and have an excellent chance at a caring, forever home where he will be appreciated for what he is - a little, loving pet and not another few dollars in someone's wallet. Way to go, Pocket.

I heard that Lori was on the news today. Wonder if they will show the segment again. I think it was WESH TV???

Sylvia, he's a little doll. I think I can see his cataracts. I'm betting he's older than nine. Maybe 12-13? What do you think? Did you think he was younger than nine? Bless your heart for taking him into your lives and home.:)

Yes it was Wesh TV. Hopefully they will show it again. It was on the 4 and 5 pm news

I thought he looked younger. He is so precious. He slept for a long time. He is just laying quietly now but he is awake.

The cataracts plus the white on his nose made me think he was older than nine. It doesn't matter. By the time you take care of him for awhile, he'll look three!:D

Such a sweet little man with such a great surprise in store -- a new happy, healthy home! What a change this must be for him. I am thankful you are there to show him a life he deserves and finally know that people are not his enemy. Bless you and all the other rescue moms and dads out there!

BTW I really love the name Peanut. There are some great Peanuts already on YT and I know we can use another. :) You can even use both names. He could be Pocket Peanut -- Peanut for short. Just not one you would want to revert to initials. ;)
