Without your initial message about LDR last year I would not have known about this group. I had my name down with another Yorkie rescue group but never heard anything (and still haven't to this day).
I am just so happy Bruce and I are able to help these babies.

Years ago I fostered dachsies (got into it by accident at the request of a friend). Only problem then is I ended up adopting most of the ones I fostered!
When the last dachsie went to Rainbows Bridge in June 2009, I missed having a furbaby - we had Lil Bit but she has made herself my husband's dog. I contacted a Yorkie rescue group then, and spoke to the lady that worked with them. Never heard anything back. So I ended up buying Beamer.
Then last year (September I think it was) Beader posted about Little Dog Rescue taking in a lot of dogs from a puppy mill. I contacted them and they sent Reno to me, he was a Yorkie mix. Then they sent Clover who was a red legged Yorkie, then January they sent me Fritz who is allegedly a Poodle/Yorkie mix - but I think he is more Yorkie/Schnauzer mix.
All those have gone to wonderful homes - and they all have albums in my profile. I get updated photos and videos of Reno all the time, not a week goes by without his new Mommie sending me photos and videos. And he is so happy in his new home.

Now I have Pocket.
Little Dog Rescue has all little dog breeds, so I may not always have a Yorkie from them, but they know I have two Yorkies here so they try and get me the Yorkies or the Yorkie mixes.
But I don't mind as long as it is a little one needing a foster home.

I hope Pocket/Peanut is helping you through your grief. You are so amazing to give this little guy a loving home. I bet he is the happiest pup around. :)

Ahhh, Pocket looks so sweet. I bet he's been through so much, but I think you'll patch those wounds right up with all your compassion, love, and caring. I have such respect for those that are able to rescue.

I like the name Pocket and Peanut, but the name I like the best is Jiffy! I just know you'll make him happy in a jiffy. :p

Oh my grief was over with a long time ago. Beamer and Lil Bit took care of that. And the best way to honour a furbaby that has gone to Rainbows Bridge is to help another one on its journey in life.

Sylvia, I just finished Pocket's blanket. I will drop it in the mail this week. I will try to get to the post office tomorrow. If not it will be Wednesday. Hope he likes it. :)

It breaks my heart to see the many dogs that are abused or victims of puppy mills. Horrible. God love this little guy and make his life sweet and wonderful from now on.

Sylvia, Pocket is so cute! I think you and Bruce are "angels" for taking in such precious "babies" that need your love and care.

It is so sad to see how these precious "babies" had to live, prior to being rescued. I will never understand how anyone can treat any animal like this. Maybe someone should treat these people the same way they treat animals!!!! Seriously!

I know it has to be difficult to give these precious "babies" to someone, when their day arrives to go to their forever homes.

(All of our kitties are rescues and spoiled rotten! I saw exactly where 2 of my kitties came from and I was appalled with the woman that basically had a "kitty mill" in her basement! It was awful to see how these precious kitties had to live. The 2 kitties I rescued probably had never seen daylight, never had toys, not enough food/water, no way to get exercise since they were confined to a very small pen with atleast 6 - 8 kitties. Sharing only ONE litterbox in these tiny cages. I assisted with this rescue of over 50 kitties that were removed from this Persian breeders home. Ever since I witnessed these living conditions, I have made sure I spoil and give lots of love to all of my kitties, bunnies and our two young pups.)

No, Sylvia. You are. You are the one taking care of this poor little baby. I think you will have your wings in heaven for being such a kind person. :)
