Rhonda I see that Rosie is on her way to bail Beamer out of jail:D |

Yes!!! Poor little baby! She is in there trying to convince her daddy to give her money to go to Florida!! Lol. She is going to bring him back to Arkansas and hide the little jail bird. :p |

Ha ha!! I will have to let her know that. She is pretty sure he is out of jail now anyway. She said Beamer's momma will not be able to leave him there for long. He is too cute and will beg her to let him out. I told her that she was right!! |
He was only in there for about 5 minutes while Pocket was out. But I just had to put him back in again so Pocket could roam around for a few minutes and go in the yard with me. I hope Beamer calms down with Pocket soon. He was fine with the other fosters. I think it is because Pocket is so small. He barks at him and jumps up when I hold him. I remember him being this way with Caedon, my grandson, when he was a baby. And he does bark at Sugar when Sugar comes. Maybe something to do with little ones being held. Maybe when Pocket comes out of the kennel on his own and wanders around Beamer will behave better. (The kennel door is unlatched so all Pocket has to do is push against it and he can come out - he knows that because yesterday he came out on his own for a while). The poor little thing, you can feel his bones, he really needs 'fattening up" I had to go get some canned food for him. I do have some of those Caesar "trays' in as I give a little to Beamer and Lil Bit with their Royal Jelly in it (it is a "treat" for them) so yesterday I gave Pocket some of the Caesar, but I bought Wellness canned food for him today. He's had 3 meals today and wolfed them all down, the poor little furbaby is malnourished. |
What a beautiful thing you are doing for these dogs that you foster. Pocket/Peanut is one lucky pup to have found you!! He does look alot like the dog coming out of the bath. The world is such a better place with people like you and your dh in it. |
I did think the one getting a bath did look like Pocket. I know the poodle getting put in the cage went to my other friend. I hope things calm down at your house soon. Beamer is just excited for a new friend to play with. |
Pictures I saw the new pictures of Pocket he is so sweet he looks very timid he is shaved down like I do my Charlie vut he is much thinner that Charlie is. What is he eating since he has no teeth, will he need a special diet? I thought of that commercial for dentostix where they show the dogs with doggy dentures LOL too bad we cant get some for pocket poor baby. Its so sad that people dont consider their pets needs before they get them or their own needs as well. I think many get pets because they are cute or fun but they neglect to realize the responsibiity |

I had rescued dachsies that virtually had no teeth, and Reno the foster dog I had last year had only one tooth, and they ate the dry dog food fine (went through a lot of the food with Reno!). I said to Bruce that the first time I see Pocket taking food from Beamer and Lil Bit's bowl and eating it, then I will know he can handle dry food. But I have him on the Wellness canned. From what I have heard from YT members it is a high quality food. Pocket is thin, you can feel his bones when you pet him. He is malnourished - but I will soon remedy that. |
I know I told you this last night when we spoke on the phone~ but POCKET is so lucky to have you and Bruce! It doesn't matter if he is 9 years or 5 years or 19 years.....the rest of his life deserves to be the best it can be!! PS where were you able to find the Wellness canned food at? Feed Supply? |

We figured out that is it. When we pick Pocket up Beamer goes crazy. But Pocket came out of the pen on his own this morning after he ate, and Beamer just followed him around. So it is only when Pocket's picked up that there is a problem. But now when I pick him up I pick him up in the cuddle sack that Fritz's new mommie made so Beamer can't get to him - and Pocket loves the cuddle sack.:) Pocket went back into the pen on his own and lay down in the little bed. He took the pad out of the bed first, so I guess he doesn't want to lay on the pad. He looks so comfortable and content. |

Has to do with holding Pocket - like you said he gets teed off when you (or I) pick Sugar up. Pocket can walk around and Beamer is fine, but when we pick him up Beamer doesn't like it. There has to be a way to train him not to jump up barking when we pick Pocket up (and when you or I pick Sugar up). |
Rosie doesn't like it when I am holding another dog or baby either. She will whine instead of barking. I think it is because she is spoiled and used to being the center of attention. :p I really don't know how to stop that. Of course, we don't have dogs or baby coming over that often. Maybe Beamer will get used to Pocket and he will stop. Do you think it is just because Pocket is new? Or maybe he just wants all his momma's attention. :D No advice here. Good luck!! |
I really don't know what it is Rhonda. Only barks and jumps when we pick Pocket up and hold him. He was the same way with Fritz and Reno, when Sue the groomer picked them up to groom them he barked and jumped up too. But we didn't pick Reno or Fritz up too often (couldn't because of my hands). Maybe he is a little jealous of the attention, but then again he is fine if Pocket comes out of the pen and wanders around, he will just follow him. And sometimes when Pocket is just near the door of the pen Beamer will just go up and just sniff him and put his nose to Pocket's nose gently with his tail wagging. He isn't aggressive with him in any way. I think when Pocket is doing better they will play together. |

1 Attachment(s) This is heartbreaking. This is a picture of Pocket the day he was taken into Rescue. And this is a link to the video taken at the home while investigators were on the scene - tears were streaming down my face while I was watching it, so be warned. O-M-G!!! i'm sorry but whoever allows this to happen to any animal should be treated the same way....and then shot!!!! I'm so glad you have Pocket....you are an amazing person for all you do! |
That video was shocking and heartbreaking. The picture of Pocket is so pitiful.:( |
It is heartbreaking to see the poor babies. Here are more of those rescued dogs from that place. http://floridalittledogrescue.com/hoarder_dogs_ If they hadn't had Pocket's name under his photo I wouldn't have recognized him, |
That is terrible  I hope all 184 are adoptable and are treated like kings and queens!! |

Make sure you post pictures:) You just don't know how much I wish I could adopt Pocket myself, but we really can't afford another furbaby, and LDR do need foster homes, so Bruce and I can do more good by fostering and letting Pocket go when he is healthy and ready for a furever home. |
Thank you Sylvia and Bruce for looking out for sweet Pocket Rocket. You are truly making a difference. |
