Need advice

I would be too scared to let my dogs out there until you can find a way to make it completely safe. It sounds like the neighbors dogs are desperate to get to your dogs and possibly your child. You could try talking to the neighbor again but it doesn't sound like they are too concerned. The only other thing I could think of is to but up a enclosed dog run to keep your's safe. I am glad my neighbors on both sides have cats.

I meant the chain link fence with vines or hedges to hide it. Inexpensive. They won't chew through chain link.

No advice- but I am so sorry your dealing with this- I have dealt with bad neighbors before and it is the worst.

I would definately be reinforcing the fenceline to protect your dogs & children! You can install chain link fence on that side or line the fence bottom with decorative stones. We put paver blocks in several places to prevent wild animals from sneaking into our yard. I had our privacy fence put in almost touching the ground but erosion has made a few low spots. You can even just drive tent stakes in at close intervals to prevent them from coming through if they do keep chipping off pieces. I also read to bury their dog poop where they are digging -- stops them from digging there again.

Here are some suggestions from the "Dig This" site:
--Bury chicken wire at the base of the fence. Be sure to roll the sharp edges away from your yard.
--Place large rocks, partially buried, along the bottom of the fence line.
Bury the bottom of the fence 1 to 2 feet below the surface.
--Lay chain link fencing on the ground (anchored to the bottom of the fence) to make it uncomfortable for your dog to walk near the fence. -- This was written for someone wanting to keep their dog "IN" so you would have to adapt the advice for a neighbor dog.

I wonder if spilling some ground pepper or similar product along the fence bottom would help? I would not want to hurt the dogs (not their fault and you can't pepper the owner ) so might want to run that by a vet to make sure it would only be a deterrent and not hurt.

1. call the police and get medical attention if your 13 was "nipped" do you really know if they have their vacs? Don't you want to protect your child and other children from that happening again?

2 Call animal control and report the treatment of these dogs etc.

3 Definitely reinforce the fence and also never have yours unattended...if the fence was damaged by the dog have you not filed a complaint of damage and demanded compensation for repairs if to no avail did you not sued for the repairs

4 I recommend bear mace and a tazer...or well something that will stop anything attacking you on your property in it's tracks...check your local laws and utilize common sense please...

5 one aggressive dog is an issue; a pack mentality of aggressive dogs is time bomb waiting to explode...

Had a similar situation here police went to the house, a couple many times, some business relationships put pressure on the person to do the right thing...and I went to the house once...issue was resolved, everyone found middle ground when responsibility and preemptive safety precautions were taken...
