We don't have the grizzlies...but black bears and coyotes we do have...I hear the coyotes are getting really bad in Okeechobee Co. Wild Hogs are really bad here in town...I see them all the time!!

Our Great Pyrenees X had a good scare from a moose and her calf. They came onto our driveway, freaked out Zain and she got freaked out too and ended up falling down. She just stood in our yard for about 15 minutes quietly as Zain climbed into our hedge and hid. Beautiful moose and calf! | |

| I ran fishing line (took about 4 spools) on the top of my 6 1/2 ft. wood fence every 18" across the whole back yard...I hammered nails on the top of the fence and then just went back and forth w/it...It's not hard to do, and the hawks, completely, stopped circling my yard...I almost lost a pup to a hawk (diving down, while I was out there w/the pups) and came up w/this idea...I sent the file to someone who "shrunk" it and posted it on here, but I don't know how...maybe whoever did this for me will see this post and do it again... |

| We have greathorned owls here as well as hawks, eagles .But the biggest problem is the coyotes in the city , they are everywhere and in broad day light ( they have no fear of people ). By the way Trin7 I like the photo of the Kermode . Eileen |

| I'm seriously afraid of hawks now. I have taken Louie outside the two days that it has been nice here and each time hawks appeared. I thought it was something that "could" happen but would be a freak accident and rarely occured. Nope! The second day there were 5!!! hawks flying over the house. Of course I went inside immediately but now I don't want him outside at all. My little guy loves it too

| Thanks - they really are beautiful, aren't they! We've had coyotes in town lately, probably because of the huge amount of snow we've had lately. Good idea to really watch our little pups (and cats)!! |

H from Satellite Beach. The poisonous frogs are bufu frogs/toads. I keep an eye on all the "pups" when they are out in the backyard. Not only for predators but in case one of them falls into the pool. They all have fallen into the pool especially Zipp with his bad cateracts and limited sight. Several YTers have had their pup fall into the pool and drown. My rule is, If the dogs are out, so is someone to watch out for them (predators, falling into the pool).

| I agree, if they my girls are outside there is always someone watching. Ally does have an issue with falling in the pool, but Tia never has. Hopefully this summer I'm going to teach them how/where to swim out. As for the stupid frogs, there is no way to control them. Both my girls have had bad contact with them (foaming at the mouth and shaking head in a tremor-like manner). The girls don't even have to touch them to get the poison. These stupid things spray too! At first, I couldn't believe a frog could do that!!!! Boy, the YTers in our area is growing! Nice weather isn't it!!! |

I never had a problem with them until a few months ago...I have killed about 5 now.I'm always outside with my babies!!!...I don't worry about my pool to much, they always stay far away from it unless we are in it..than Bella wants to swim too ...I'm a firm believer in teaching kids (fur & skin) to swim at a young age...My old lady Bailey who passed last Oct loved the pool...we couldn't keep her out of it This is my Bailey RIP she was 15 when she passed.

| You know, I really think they know they are deadly...cause my 2 are the same way they will grab just about anything but those toad frogs...plus they know when I say "leave it" they won't touch it..than I make them go in...while I kill it!!

| Bailey was a very good swimmer! Beautiful baby! Ally hates the water, but falls in, and Tia is hesitant, but willing to stand on a float. Little doggy swimming lessons in my back yard!!!!! Although our weather is great right now, I think that means we're going to have a super HOT summer. It was close to 90 degrees a few days ago and it's still February! |
