But this breeder definately sounds shady. Can't wait to hear the outcome of your trip. Hoping for the best for you. |
If you dont feel completely comfortable with this breeder I would not get the pup even if it means losing a deposit. Hes going to be about 9 lbs or more as an adult which is fine there are plenty of larger yorkies but if you had your heart set on a smaller one I would wait because the yorkie will be with you for many years and you shouldnt settle |

its possible for 2 small parents to produce a larger pup/dog. Tucker was 5 pounds at 4 months old and at 2 years is between 9/10 pounds. He is very stocky as to where both of his parents were 4 pounds and very small boned. His brother (from same litter) and his "sisters" from the next litter all stayed under 4 pounds and small. I call him my wanna be bulldog... anyways, he is proof that is very possible! :) I hope it all works out for you and this pups is healthy.. |
I think these are different pups. See the pup in the second picture? It has a green eye-shine. (That indicates a pup that will eventually have a silk coat). I don't think the eye-shine develops until about 6 months of age. Has anyone ever seen a pup with green eye-shine at the age of 10 weeks? |
i think the pup in the 2nd pic looks like a 10 week old pup but a almost 5lb 10 week old pup and a bit poorly bred... i think i would have just fought to get the money back..threatening to go to court makes a lot of people pay up..she doesnt seem like a trust worth breeder and if you are not comfortable with her being honest...fight for your money back and get the dog you want dont settle |
Very very observant of you to pick out the green eye'd shine silk coat. I went and grabbed my binky's scrapbook because my hubby bought her for me without my knowledge and this lady let her go at 6 weeks. thank god she was healthy and thank god for these boards and all the wonderful breeder friends I made who helped me make sure she was going to be ok. I had my angel 11.5 years and wouldn't trade it for the world. I went through her scrapbook and had one of her laying on the computer chair she was 3 months old at the time..no green eyed shine and she had the prettiest silk coat when she grew up. actually none of the pictures even when she as a few months older and we had just renovated the powderroom and she went in there and tore up toilet paper..there she is sitting in a big pile of it looking right at me and no green in her eyes yet either of course in hubby's eyes not her fault and he had the contractor move that fancy european holder up higher...lol |
he's also breaking into adult coat and I know that varies but I got it was around 6 months that starts |
So very sorry that you are going through this, it really must be heart breaking. My Laci came from a crappy breeder, I think she lied to me also, she was shady, at the time I didnt know better. Laci was an only pup, I got her at 12 weeks old she was 2.7 pds and today she weights a little over 6 pds. I dont think those pups look alike, and personally I think the older pup has a scruffy looking coat and sparse. This puppy is going to be with you years maybe 15-20 be really happy with him. I think it would have been better if you had the choice of the litter not one you just have to " take". |
