Donating YT 500 Club Member | Crazy mean neighbor! Has this happened to you? So Taycie and I have our daily morning routine... we wake up, or rather she wakes me up and we go on our morning walk! I live in a basement apartment so most of the time we are using the "toilet" facilities as we are walking. Now maybe I am the one being rude but I was so annoyed with the neighbor that lives two houses down this morning! There is a GIANT park litterally a half a block away so that is normally were we walk so she can go potty and its really nice and quiet! There is hardly ever alot of dogs there so we can both walk and enjoy ourselves. BUT we have to walk to get there... Well this morning we are walking up the street to go to the park and usually she will potty on the front lawn immedietly... I don't blame her! She held it all night long! But to get her to go number 2 it takes her a minute so that is why we walk... Well AFTER the entire buisness has been taken care of and we are walking home WITH MY Poop sack in hand she starts to walk on the CRAZY neighbors lawn... There IS NO sidewalk on the block that I live so yes... sometimes she does end up in other people's lawn and if she does EVER have to go potty I ALWAYS clean up after..... Anyway... I noticed him the other day while we were walking by he was standing inside at his door but just looking through the glass... I didnt really think much of it and we went on our merry way .... well this morning she started walking on his lawn and opened the door so fast and glared at me like we both had a diease! So basically I was shocked! I have my poop bag in hand its not like she is going in your ugly yard anyways... I was SO annoyed!!!!!!!! I wanted to open the already used poop bag and dump it on his lawn and yell.. HAVE A GREAT DAY! Take a chill pill! You UGLY OLD MAN! We weren't even doing anything wrong... what am I supposed to do walk in the middle of the road and risk something awful to happen so she won't happen to walk on your Lawn???? And what would a 4pound dog do to your ugly lawn anyways! So maybe I'll just start taking poop bags in the middle of the night and start dumping them on his lawn! UGH I am SO ANNOYED! |

| Some people don't have anything else to do - just think, maybe you and your pup are the highlight of his day! Just give him a big friendly wave - could you imagine if he called the cops how dumb he'd look?? |

| I had a similar problem last night! I live in a townhouse that backs to a beautiful bike trail with a mud puddle some people call a lake. But because I have nerve damage in my ankle, Crickett and I can't go down there to walk very often. So we walk around the sidewalk in front instead. (Which is more like a park). She never pottys in other peopls yards because we go BEFORE the walk. I always carry a bag tied to the leash "just in case". I do however let her smell around the sidewalk and yards. We never even stop long enough for her to potty in anyones yards! Yesterday I waved and said hi to a neighbor as we walked by. (Normally we have a very friendly community.) The guy yelled under his breath, "(something, something)... Damn Dog, I don't even like you anyway!" WTH?!?!?! Some people are just truly grumpy people and NOT yorkie friendly. Poor souls. I feel sorry for them. They are missing a true blessing in their lives! Anyway when you walk past the guys ugly yard, just try to imagine how miserable and unhappy he must be instead of being mad.

| Not to take sides but maybe he's had to clean up after dogs in his yard...where one goes others will follow and it can be very frustrating. Maybe he just wants to discourage all dog walkers to stay off of his yard whether they are carrying a potty bag or not. You never really know what the other person is feeling or what they have gone through so it's always best to try to understand and be considerate. |

| LOL!!! I don't know him or even seen him. But I can picture an old man peeking through the window like a weirdo! Instead of droppin the poop in the lawn.....do the classic poop prank....put it in a brown paper bag....light it on fire, ring his doorbell & RUN! ( Make sure not to actually burn down his house....because then you'll be an arsonist ) |

| Well I can also see both sides, maybe another dog has been using his yard as a bathroom and that dogs owner does not clean it up, maybe he will realize that you are a great responsible owner that does pick up after your dog. But to stand there and just stare at you is ugly. |

I can see your point and I'm not trying to sound inconsiderate of his feelings I was just frustrated! That is why we walk to the park.. so she does not use other's property! I think I will just walk on the other side of the street from now on... It's just really akward when all of the sudden some strange man is glaring at you and unforunetly there is no sidewalk so that doesn't help... And there is a house with little dogs.. chi's and poms that run all over the neighborhood and I am sure they have gone in his yard... I just wish if he was going to watch and be onery he would yell at the ones that ACTUALLY use his yard | |

| It sounds like you live in a townhouse like me! We go down to the end of the road where they do their business on walks if they don't go in the backyard. There are people that do just let their dogs go on peoples yards (thank god not on our street) which may be why your neighbor is so upset. I know I'd be mad if I stepped in another dogs poop on my own lawn!! You would think having the poop bag in your hand would show him that you are a responsible pet owner who cleans up after your dog but you never know. |

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have never walked Prince on other people's private property, and I don't want anyone to walk their dog on mine...size doesn't matter.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Problem with even cleaning up after your dog responsibly is that other dogs will catch the scent and need to mark it. And the next dog may not be accompanied by a responsible owner to clean up after it. Also - the ammonia in the urine does burn the grass. If he takes any pride in his lawn, he won't appreciate any "recreational" use of his lawn. How about trying to be cordial? Smile and say good morning. Tell him he has a nice yard and you won't let your dog mess it up. Maybe he's lonely, or sick, or both. If you give him a little respect, you might be surprised. Sorry to go on a rant but I spend a lot of time with old people and think it's shameful the way we let them be abused and neglected. There are a few people who are just hopeless, but I've found that the really cranky ones are usually frightened or ill, and a little kindness goes a heck of a long way. |

Humm thats weird my OH always tells me size DOESNT matter? Anyway back to the point lol, i have to agree that maybe walking on the other side of the road might be best. My Dad used to freak when dogs came onto our lawn and poo'd and wee'd and i think i would too. I understand your fustration on getting your little girl to the park tho. Good luck xxxxx

| While I do not have a yorkie, rather a lab and four children, I was searching for people who have had bad experiences with neighbors and found your post. People can be terrible. You should read what happened to us with our nasty mean neighbor this past week. Bad Neighbors - Get off my F#$%ing Lawn!!!! | Day to Day Woman |
