♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | stupid people! I went for a walk to our local park with my 2 yorkies ,my mum and her poodle and my sister and her 3 yorkies when this woman and her 2 small children came in. Her dog ( a greyhound type)was totally out of control and so we all got our dogs on their leads. It came bounding over and tried humping my sisters dogs. The woman just laughed and sat in the park . Her dog continued to pester our dogs and at one point my mum picked up her poodle and it was jumping up at my mum trying to get to it. The woman was amused and continued to laugh. Then it was my turn. Tia , my 5lb girl was terrified and Olly not much better either. I had enough and said can you get your dog on a lead. She called it to her to be fair , it took no notice whats so ever.Well I have never heard so many swear words in one sentence! She continued to threaten us and said she will come over and beat us up! All this infront of her small children! Whats up with people? Is it too much to ask that people respect each other and if they see a dog on a lead that they do likewise?

| Some people are just bad dog owners and think that the dogs can train themselves. That lady was messed up...!

| She sounds like a low class type of person. What more can I say only that type of person would threaten to beat someone up over a dog encounter. I would have taken out my cellphone and told her I was calling the cops for her threat. Shes just learned she can bully her way throughy things

| I think that you were a lot kinder than I would have been. People like that are a different breed. I am just glad that all of your little ones are ok! |

| Takes all kinds to make up this world of ours. Unfortunately you ran in to one of the miserables. But the good thing about those kind of people is it helps us to appreciate the good people. Don't give it another thought. In fact, I'd feel sorry the poor dog (and her husband if he hadn't run off by now). |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | I don't know what its like where you guys are from but here in the u.k there are many walks where dogs can roam freely off the lead which is great however people take liberties and more and more people are leaving their dogs off the lead walking along the street. Just the other day I crossed the road with my two as a staff was walking off lead with its dumb owner and the dog almost got run over trying to cross the road to get to my two! luckily for the owner and my babies he managed to grab it in time but even then just held its collar because he obvously didn't have a lead with him.

I myself get very nervous, when I see these big dogs coming toward us, I pick up my two right away. If I go to a park and see big dogs running around , I don't get out of the car and try and find a place that the dogs are on leash. Last year here in Orlando , owners of a small dog went to a dog park, every thing was going well , Until this couple came with 2 large dogs and they took their leash off , well one of the big dog attack the small dog and then the other big dog join in to also attack the dog , the owners all try to get the dog's off and at last they did , the poor owner call the police and the owner of the of the big dogs took off. It was in the local paper , I don't know if the smaller dog die, but it did say it would be a miracle if it made it. We stay away from dog parks , cause I find by us most of the dog are too big and play too hard. Bark@ulater!!! manina, mileymax | |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | It would be nice if the dog parks had hours where they were restricted specifically to dogs under a certain weight. But the kind of people who don't control their big dogs probably wouldn't respect those rules, either. My trainer wants me to get Tallulah used to walking in public and I told her my fears about other dogs. She said I should get one of those little air horns - they are apparently more effective at stopping dogs than pepper spray. I'm going to do that plus carry a big stick. |

| That's frustrating. There's a little Yorkie that frequents the dog park that can't be more than 4lbs. He's so obnoxious, he's constantly humping other dogs, and he will pick one dog and just follow them around the park the entire time. Well, once he picked Jackson. Jackson is so laid back, he didn't care for a while, the little guy was practically humping his leg as Jackson was running... he would NOT leave him alone. I could tell Jackson was getting really irritated so we just left. But what irritates me the most is the owner says "oh that's how he plays! he's so small, it's the only way he knows how to!" Yet, she won't neuter him, says she is going to breed him (he is not a standard Yorkie and has a terrible temperament) and if any dog tries to hump him... she (and he) gets mad. I'm very understanding... I totally get that dogs will be dogs. It's when the owner just sits back and laughs and thinks it's no big deal and doesn't even attempt anything and it's happening repeatedly. It's very frustrating.

| In Miami there is a leash law.. if you are caught without a leash you can be fined $500.00 per dog each time. I have had some experiences in dog parks. I used to love to take my guys to dog parks then I had a couple of bad time so it took the fun out of it. For one, a lot of owners do not monitor their dogs.. so it is hard for my Bailey (who is fearful) when so many large dogs come up to him. Also, I don't like being jumped on myself. I like the idea of the air horn.. I will try it!!! I also have a taser-- the one that give a electrical shock.. dogs hate the sound!! I am sorry OP had the experience of such a rude low class person..
