In process of buying a puppy from this breeder!!! hello, i am in the process of buying a pup from the breeder crystal hardacker, the puppy is 7 weeks old and will be ready in march. After reading that experiance that a recent buyer has had with this woman just a month ago about not even being a purebreed or even close to one i am very hesistant to buy from her now. I have already put down a deposit of 100 dollars towards the total cost of 400 dollars. I had went to go see themwhen they were 5 weeks and they looked very much like the way yorkie pups would look, but im afraid if i buy them from her that i would be getting something else otherwise. Just today for kicks i googled her name and lots and lots of negative things came out, i wish i would have done this before, when i went to her house she seemed very kind and had all this paperwork...i dot know what to do???? i am afraid i wont be geting a purebreed. I have already payed the 100 dollar deposit towards te pup, so my question is what shold i do?? should i wait it out until i go to pay the rest of the money and see what the pup looks like, or should i tell her that i have read many bad things about her and how she con'd people and gave them mixed puppys..i have very litte money..was savin up for a yorkie and dont want to get burned. She made me sign a paper sayin that the deposit was on refundable unless the puppy somehow died of sickness under her care? please if anyone has any advice, thank you |

If she is lying about the kind of dogs she breeds what else is she lying about? |

OK, you signed a non-refundable deposit contract. Take your loss and leave her alone. I see you have been saving for a yorkie but from what has been said and results from googling I would count my blessings that is all you have spent. Call her and explain to her of your findxings and that you are not comfortable with her. OR....tell her you would want to take the pup to a vet and have a it tested for what kind of dog it is. She if she agrees to that..ha, I bet not but who knows. Then you give her the reamining balance. Let us know what she says because this is going to get interesting. |

Where did you find her listing? I want to make a review about here there as well. |
Just an observation...but doesn't the price give it away that these are not quality, purebred Yorkies? |

Puppyfind isnt a good place to find a breeder there are alot of scammers on there |

I understand......there should be no angle...fraud is fraud. |
This is terrible. People like that should be jailed for life. What a flipping rip off. And I am sure that is how so many pets end up in shelters. That makes me so mad. But your baby is so cute. I was thinking and I think someone else said also, he does look like he has Jack Russell in him although I know you have DNA done on him. Best of luck getting any thing back from this fradulent person. I would hope you could get double back. |
I hope you get some of your money back |

Technically, you could take her to small claims over the deposit if you were really into going that far...showing this lady has a history of fraud...notice how many people on here have had contact with her etc... FYI for those recommending shelter, rescue, and free dogs pup etc...the legal issue the OP is dealing with sites retail value not secondary market value and as much as it is sickening when dealing with live animals secondary market value of property is not the same as retail value and that is how it will be seen by a judge... wish we had a brave judge out there with a heart that would change that animals really shouldn't be considered property but then again so are children in some aspects of CA law (not to mention the rest of the country)...probate law stinks...but we'd making headway on making things right...thankfully the OP as a strong fraud case here. Maybe everyone of you whom are posting about this breeder shoudl get together compare notes and make statements for each-other, what a great case to put together being able to show how many people were able to connect so quickly with similar stories...wish it was the case the every bad breeder, puppy scammer out the was so easily found out and people could stand up together showing the consistency of their deceit. Best of luck to you all. |
WOW wow wow...I've been keeping up with this and its just sad :( I really hope you get your money back! But like I said before, regardless you have an adorable little addition to your family and court costs could end up being more than that in the end....however I DO want to see justice with this woman! To the other girl who is considering purchasing a puppy from her! RUN, RUN, RUN!!! I know you lost $100 but you say you don't have much money....if this breeder is lying to you about the breed of the pup, she could also be lying about a lot of other stuff!! Your puppy could end up with a lot of problems, therefore causing you even more expenses at the vet. Owning a dog can be very expensive so do your research and invest your money in a reputable breeder who will ensure you get a healthy, happy pup! Buy the breeder FIRST!! :) |
Crystal Hardacker "Breeder" DO NOT GET A YORKIE FROM THIS WOMAN! I got my Macy from her June 2010. She is not a purebred (I don't know this for sure, but I'm 99% sure). I just had her at the vet today and she weights 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Her ears are rounded, not V shaped. She doesn't have the typical Yorkie coat for being almost 10 months. She is still black and tan. Her hair on her face is short and the body hair is black on long. She shed like she was a lab or something for about two months. DO NOT BUY FROM HER! It is a rip off. Not what I paid $399 for! |
The Crystal Hardacker I met and got my "Yorkie" from lives in Elizabeth, Colorado! What's going on! |

I would love to have all the support I can get before I go to court. Please send me a private message or write to anastacea@gmail.com. Thanks. Do you have pictures of the dog you bought from her? |

Did you also buy a dog from her? Is your Yorkie a purebred? Do you have pictures of your dog? How long ago did you buy your dog from her? |
joannamarie6: Really only $399!?! Yorkies come in all sizes, colors, coats, features, and weights...get a breed identification DNA test and a vets evaluation! My Elvis has round floppy ears and is almost 10 pounds and has a super cottony coat...I paid a couple thousand...he's purebred. Unfortunately I paid far too much and have spent several thousand more on medical care for him...I will continue to spend more on him with his medical problems-not to be associated with his physical traits though. There is a purebred on here 19 pounds! Check some of the threads about "teapots" and other general information reguarding the variations in Yorkie features. Really only $399 for a Yorkie? anastacea: be sure to only present factual information to the court, for your own benefit...not a letter from someone who "believes" something they can't prove...or haven't proven yet...and who's beliefs are easily contradicted with facts of breed knowledge. Remember a mixed breed isn't a "designer breed" and using secondary market values isn't going to help you like using values from "free dogs from non-breeders" or pounds or rescues...also the same in inflammatory designer breed prices don't apply to you Quote:

Crystal Hardacker "Breeder" So heres my story: I found her ad in the paper/online. I asked her how to go about getting one. She said that I could come and see them, but I am about 3 hours away from where she lived. She said to send her $100 via PayPal to hold one for me. So I did. I asked a person who is familiar with Yorkies about them. She said to ask about the parent's size, the health/shots, and make sure you wait 8 weeks to get them otherwise, it's illegal in Colorado. She told me the parents were "between 5-8 pounds." This didn't bother me too much, the bigger, the healthier in general. But she was very vague about her and didn't really answer all my questions. So I drove the three hours down there to get her, taking a day off work without PTO, and she meets me at the door with my puppy and the mom in their dog beds. As soon as I walk in she throws Macy onto my chest and has me sign all these papers about the conditions of the sale. She showed me a picture of the dad, which is her mom's dog. Also picture of "other dogs from previous litters" which looked very much like the standard/show dog features. I also paid the remaining $300 (it was only $299, but what's a dollar). She gave me papers on her saying she is ready to be registered with the Continentel Kennel Club (which I did :D). The papers say she is pure Yorkshire Terrier (I will need to get in my Safe deposit box and make copies for you if you'd like! I saved everything). I just ordered the doggie Wisdome Panel Insights DNA test that the other member used. It is really frusterating when I saved my money to get a Yorshire Terrier and did TONS of research on the breed, their traits, how to care for them, the growth stages, and the common ailments in picking that breed and in preparation for her. All to find out I have purchased a mixed breed dog that weighs over 12 pounds! Everything I got for her was for the standard size. I have had to purchase a new dog crate, collars, and sweaters for the Nebraska cold. I will keep you all updated on the results of the test. Good or bad.. After the vet this morning I also e-mailed her. That was at about noon, so I'll see what she has to say. I love my Macy, she is adorable. but people ask me all the time what kind of dog she is. Urgg, I still get mad about it, I was practically crying after I left the vets office to my fiance over the phone. It also surpises me that the vet never said anything. I've taken her there since I got her. Whatever. I love her and that's all that matters :) And these pictures are taking too long on my computer (it's slow), you can look me up on Facebook, Joanna Smurthwaite, and find my album for her. If you would like a more formal statement (in word or something) let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. |

Joanna, take a deep breath and let's focus. No matter what you paid for your little one...she is still your little one. I do not care what others say on how much you paid for her. (Obviously you are heartbroken). It does seem to suck(for a lack of a better word) that all the research on the breed does no good when it comes to the breeder themselves...scabby and shabby. I am so sorry but please remember that yorkies can and do come in larger sizes. How is her heart? Does she love you? Does she give you that look? Does she follow you everywhere? If yes to these questions, then you paid less than what you looked for. PRICELESS!!! On this forum we care for each other and "all of our little ones too". I paid a certain price for one baby and got a family that is worth a million dollars. We will always be here for you and others. Post pic's because we would like to see what has captured our hearts. ;) |

Did I get ripped off? I guess I did. But he was my very first dog; my first little companion; he moved with me to 3 different states and together, we hiked every trail. He was the best dog ever - but he did NOT look like the tiny maltese you see in the magazines. |
Macy I do love her with all my heart, I could never give her away or trade her for another. She is a little social butterfly, she loves everyone. She's not much of a watch dog haha. I did my best to socialize her as a pup so she wouldn't be afraid, boy did that work! She is fearless and loves to harass the black lab next door. He just sits there and takes it and she jumps all over him and licks his face. She is priceless. It is basically the principle that I did not get what I paid for. My fiance, who did not want a dog at all, has admitted he loves her and couldn't give her up. Her new thing that makes us all laugh happens when she stand by the door and whines to go out. He or I will then ask if she needs to go out, and in response she starts spinning circles! ADORABLE! If only I had half of her energy! |
