| Choppa had long legs and I kept thinking look at those legs. He turned out 5 pounds at a year old no health issues.

|
Great post Maximo Rizzo is a long legged yorkie, he is tall and long but dainty he is 5lbs at just over a year old. His legs were shaved because of his recent neuter, lol, his skinny little chicken legs
Why were both of his legs shaved? That seems odd to me. Zoey has skinny chicken legs too. Cherie

| My Abbie has long legs, and she is 6lbs. She has the best personality, and is the best dog. I wouldnt change a thing about her.

| My Max was 4.6 # at 15 months... He was much smaller than I anticipated... his little legs were long, but bird-like. I was so afraid he might fall off the bed at the hotel on the way home, I lined the floor all around the bed with pillows. At 2 1/2, he's very muscular, strong as an ox; eats like a horse; and can almost 'levitate' from the floor to the recliner if there's a bowl of popcorn involved. I think we have the 'breed standard' to blame. A size 12 for women today is not the same as a size 12 was in the 1950's... Have you ever toured a castle and looked at the low chairs and the tiny armor displayed. People are bigger and Yorkies are bigger. But they won't let the standard weight rise. Nutrition is better; health care is better; and these babies are TERRIORS, not bird legged, back-combed, prissy boys... I shudder sometimes when I see the extreme hairdo's of the show dogs. I'd love to see a short sheared, flowing skirt, long nosed, blue collar ratter shown sometime... I have two of them, and I think they represent their breed well. |
