Hubby was raised with German Shepherds and loves them. I was raised with Goldens and Shar-pei. I think if we were to ever get a big dog it would be one of those three, although after my experience with my Shar-pei I grew up with, I would not ever have one with Chip and Smokey around.

I had a rat terrier from the age of 1 until he disappeared when I was in 3rd grade. I was devastated, and I never loved another dog until we got Sophie. I did try, though, but I just couldn't get the dog trained or really fall in love. However, since loving Sophie, I find myself looking at dogs in a completely different light. I do agree, though, that although I wanted a really little dog, Sophie is 8 lbs, and I wouldn't want one any smaller. I really don't like those teeny little things.

I didn't grow up with dogs but wanted a Yorkie for years before I got my two pups about two years ago. Now that I have Yorkies in my life, I can't imagine my life without them.

I love the breed, don't get me wrong, but mastiffs are my breed. My two dogs are an English Mastiff, Max, and my yorkie, T.J. who I wouldn't trade for the world. My yorkie rules the roost!

With that said, I am a very outdoorsy person. I also have horses. Trust me, yorkies (at least mine) and horses do NOT mix!
