| ![]() I think you need to wait a day or two after a bath to apply the topicals. I think it needs the natural oils to spread, so that is the reason to wait. I was told that Frontline should be used a couple of days after a bath and to wait a couple of days for it to spread through the skin before bathing. I'm not sure ifAdvantage is water-safe. |

| ![]() I started using Confortis (I think that is the spelling) since mine has a bad allergy to the fleas. It is a pill and the vet said that you can give them a bath right away, no remembering if you put the stuff on them and on what day, She also said that the fleas seem to have built up a resistance to the topical. They are supposed to be coming out with a flea & tic mixed with heart worm so that you only have to buy one pill. I can't wait for that!

No Longer a Member | ![]() I use CAPSTAR for the fleas on the dog, it kills all fleas with in 30 mins, you can buy it at any vets office for 4 dollars a dose, Then for protection against reinfestation i use advantix, Advantix kills fleas for 30 days after they bit the dog, Witch is why I use capstar 1st to get rid of any thing 1st, Advantage kills fleas, tics, and heartworms. You should wait 24 hours after placing any topic flea meds befor bathing, After that its fine as the meds are in the dogs blood stream. |

No Longer a Member | ![]() and i said that backwards Advantage kills fleas for 30days Advantixs kills fleas, tics, heartworms, Heres is what advantage says about Frontline advantage and advantix Bathing All three are water-resistant, but there are cautions. Bathe the dog before applying the drops or several days after. Otherwise, they’re fine while bathing, swimming or in rotten weather. Also, they all recommend a non-detergent shampoo for bathing the dog. |
