| topknot! help! Remy's hair finally got long enough for me to attempt a top knot. Well, that's an adventure, haha! All I had was a tiny baby scrunchie. He keeps it in but he scratches at his head and rubs his head against the carpet to try and get it out. What can I do to make him keep it in? Will he eventually get over that and get use to it? I attached a picture..am I doing this right? lol

| I think it just takes patience and repetition. Eventually, Remy will probably get use to it. Betty Boop only protests if I make the topknot too tight. This is when she will rub her head on the carpet. I can remember as a little girl when my mother made my ponytails too tight. I just have it in my head that it would give Betty Boop a headache if hers was too tight. Sometimes I have to re-do hers a couple of times each day because she plays so hard.

| I give Rio treats while I'm doing her top knot, and have done so ever since she was a puppy. Just be patient and make it a calm, positive experience.

| I never had problem with Blue & really don't have an advice to offer except to train Remy to leave his topknot alone. He's adorable! |

No Longer a Member | My little girl loves her hair up with bows, but my boy hates them, as soon as its in hes rubbing is head on the floor, He even trys to take my little girls bows out,But I like to use brad rubber bands, You can buy a pack of 100 at the dollar store for a buck, There as small as the rubber bands used on braces. My boy cant get them out and after saying no to him for about an hour he stops, I also try to distract him for a few mints after i put his hair up and that works to, he soon forgets its even there, Now with the bands you do have to cut them out not pull them out like a hair tie. |

| I forgot to mention to you that I have noticed that some of Betty Boop's topknot hair is broken at the band level because of her rubbing her head on the carpet. If this happens, of course your topknot will not be as thick anymore, until the hair that is broken grows back. Just a heads up. I've used different bands and found the best ones for Betty Boop are sent to me from DarlinBeauxsDogBows.com. They don't seem to break Betty Boop's hair off as easily as others do (this is just my experience with bands). The bands are round and seem to be a little more "forgiving". She is a member on YT and makes and sells beautiful bows.

| Every day I put Lily's hair in a top not before I leave for work. Every day Lily takes her top not out It is a little game we play.

| I am still playing with trying to keep Josie's in also. She does the rub on carpet or furniture to get hers out. Little stinker. I did order some bows and bands from DarlinBeauxsDogBows.com , the bows are too cute. She also told me a trick I have been using. I put a towel on my washer have everything laid out and sit Josie on it to do her hair and then I give her a treat afterwards and tell her "Good Girl". Now both of my dogs wants to get on the washer when I go to the laundry room cause they think they are going to get a treat. LOL |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Poppy will do the same when I put a bow in her hair, I dont usually put them in when she is in the house only when we go out. Because she tends to forget she has it in her hair when there are so many more interesting things on her walk. Since having her hair cut I dont think I could get one in her hair anymore though LOL but I think a clip should still go in!

| I would just use 1/4" lightweight grooming bands, not scrunchies as it probably feels heavy to him. Make sure it's not too tight. |

| Thank you everyone, wonderful advice! I have been wanting to order from darlinbeauxs and now that Remy's hair is getting long enough I can . I'm going to get some bands and bows. Hopefully, he will eventually get tired of fighting me and will enjoy the treats . Thanks again!
