| ![]() Pineapple worked like a charm for us. They eventually stopped after awhile and I don't have to give them pineapple anymore.

| ![]() How is he doing anyway? Are you still doing the spinach? Teddy Bumpkins is using broccoli and he is a reformed poop eater. He was my hardest poop eater yet. We just needed to find the right thing to feed him to get him to stop.

I haven't tried the broccoli. How much do you recommend? I just bought some frozen broccoli yesterday.

| ![]() I think I will try the pineapple. I feed my dogs Blue Buffalo and I do not free feed. The reason being, my Basset Hound is on Prednisone (steroid) and he is always hungry because of that so I can't just leave food out. They both are fed twice a day. I don't think it is because he is hungry that he eats poop. I do pick up poop as soon as I see it, but sometimes I'm too late. I would rather keep trying supplements to stop the poop eating. How much pineapple should I give the Basset Hound? |

| ![]() I hate to be negative, but pineapple didn't work for my girls. I've tried everything!

| ![]() I definitely understand. My puppy Max is an eating powerhouse. If i fed him rocks with his meal to battle poop eating, he'd eat the rocks. We are still trying but at this point I'm very focused on "leave-it", using his poop as the "leave-it" example. Ugh.

| ![]() Thanks for the info. He takes Prednisone because he has Masticatory Myositis. Basically, if he opens his mouth too wide (like to yawn) it gets stuck open and it is painful. The steroid helps with the pain and with his mouth getting stuck open. |

I've also notice a trend of Blue Buffalo feeders with dog that have poop eating problems.

| ![]() My little Kinder was a poop eater too and now she is ten months old. She has been pretty good now but we tried all the things from the vet and it did not work. I read on Yt to use pineapple ; so three times a day I cut up two chunks and mix in a teaspoon of canned food. She loves it and I know it took a few months to work but I am glad she stopped. I think the pineapple trick is a safe method and she gets some fruit everyday. Hope this helps your little poop eater. Susan |
