I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Is it different from the other ear? Has it recently grown, does it seem to be causing any problems? Does it seem swollen or painful? When was the last time she had a vet check? Roxy is adorable!

| I agree, Roxy is adorable. Difficult to see on the computer screen, but are those spots and what color are they?

| Are they reddish/brownish spots -- looking almost like dirt? Do they wash off? Could it be a little start of red yeast infection? The same thing that causes the reddish brown staining below their eyes sometimes? http://www.dailypuppy.com/articles/h...f-605c17e69ef1 could also be ear mites: Ear mites are small parasites which can invade your dog's ears. These mites typically cause a dry, dark brown debris to form in the ears of dogs. Ear mite treatments kills only the adult mites, not the nymphs, (pre-adults). Effective ear mite treatment includes an initial series of treatments to kill the adult mites followed 10 to 14 days later by a second series of treatments to kill the newly matured adults. http://www.thepuppyplace.org/page46.html

| From what I can see of it it does look like a yeast infection. A quick trip to the vet and they'll be able to confirm and give you some drops to treat

| Thanks for all the help, I have answered all the questions Is it different from the other ear? Yes, the other ear is VERY clean. Has it recently grown, does it seem to be causing any problems? Does not seem to bother her. Does it seem swollen or painful? I do not think so. When was the last time she had a vet check? It has been more than 1 year but are those spots and what color? Reddish Brown Are they reddish/brownish spots -- looking almost like dirt? YES Do they wash off? I have not tried yet . Could it be a little start of red yeast infection? She did have an infection at 6 months old. She is 3 years old now. could also be ear mites Does the ear have an odor? yes is a slight ordor. |
