Is it different from the other ear? Yes, the other ear is VERY clean.

Has it recently grown, does it seem to be causing any problems? Does not seem to bother her.

Does it seem swollen or painful? I do not think so.

When was the last time she had a vet check? It has been more than 1 year

but are those spots and what color? Reddish Brown

Are they reddish/brownish spots -- looking almost like dirt? YES

Do they wash off? I have not tried yet .

Could it be a little start of red yeast infection? She did have an infection at 6 months old. She is 3 years old now.

could also be ear mites

Does the ear have an odor? yes is a slight ordor.
Thank you for this information, I would call the vet and tell him this. I always recommend people get a check-up every year; this also enables you to call your vet with common questions all year long. If there is any odor, you need to see a vet. If there are "dirty spots" that don't wash off you need to see a vet. The sooner you treat, the easier to treat. Best of luck, and let us know what the vet says.
