Something looks strange in one ear 3 Attachment(s) Happy new year to everyone! My Roxy has one ear with something strange in the inner ear, does it look familar to any one? |
Is it different from the other ear? Has it recently grown, does it seem to be causing any problems? Does it seem swollen or painful? When was the last time she had a vet check? Roxy is adorable! |
I agree, Roxy is adorable. :) Difficult to see on the computer screen, but are those spots and what color are they? |
It looks reddish to me. |
It's hard to tell from a picture, but could it possibly be ear mites? |
Are they reddish/brownish spots -- looking almost like dirt? Do they wash off? Could it be a little start of red yeast infection? The same thing that causes the reddish brown staining below their eyes sometimes? http://www.dailypuppy.com/articles/h...f-605c17e69ef1 could also be ear mites: Ear mites are small parasites which can invade your dog's ears. These mites typically cause a dry, dark brown debris to form in the ears of dogs. Ear mite treatments kills only the adult mites, not the nymphs, (pre-adults). Effective ear mite treatment includes an initial series of treatments to kill the adult mites followed 10 to 14 days later by a second series of treatments to kill the newly matured adults. http://www.thepuppyplace.org/page46.html |
It could be yeast infection, My Tessa had it and looked like that, My vet gave me Mometamax to put in her ear. It cleared her right up. |
From what I can see of it it does look like a yeast infection. A quick trip to the vet and they'll be able to confirm and give you some drops to treat :D |
Does the ear have an odor? :animal-pa And ROXY is sure a CUTIE!!!! |
Does any one have any good tips for putting ear drops in? Bennett absolutely hates them and he runs even when I try to pet him and i'm near the bottle..ugh frustrated |
