| Am I a bad mom? I decided for my sanity, the sanity of everyone coming to my house for a pampered chef party tomorrow and for the sanity and safety of both my dogs to go ahead and bring them to our favorite pet food and groomer store and let them dog sit for a couple hours. I feel awful about doing it, but they have each other to keep company and if they were in the house with the party it would be nonstop barking and pandamonium and they would be under foor in the kitchen and if kenneled would bark themselves into a frenzy and i feel like it's worse to them to know someone is here and not be able to say hello than to just be out of the home for a little bit and be safe and calm. did i do the right thing here for them because they come first. |

| It's not like you're leaving them there forever. I'm sure they'll be fine. I had 29 people for Thanksgiving and Shadow was 6 mos old. We had a bunch of small kids too. I had her pen in the same room as everyone and she did well. She could see everyone and not get picked up all the time, besides not getting stepped on! Of course, never know how long that will last! You are not a bad mom!!! |

| You are not a bad Mom!! They will have each other for company. You are doing the right thing. You would never forgive yourself if a door was left open and they got loose!! You are doing your best to keep them safe. That's a good Mommy!! |

| I agree with Sammy Mommy, your dogs are happier and safer without all the chaos when a party is going on. You did the smartest, safest choice for your pups.

| You know your dogs then any other person. I think you ought to go with your heart on this one. If you think they would be better off being dog sat during the party and know they are safe and well cared for, then do it. If you have any doubts in your decision then perhaps something else could be looked into. If you have and family members that you trust , perhaps they could go there for a visit? I feel for you. My Suzi is a problem when company comes over. She gets way too excited and jumps all over everybody. I have to place her in the bedroom , because she is way too overwhelming. You are NOT a bad mom either! Your looking after their best interests. That makes you a wonderful , caring, doggie parent.

| I think it is very responsible. Not to mention safer for the pups. Having so many people in the house at once would scare me. However, having them safe at the groomers for a couple of hours seems perfectly fine. |

| the last party was an actual party though this one is MY friends which are older, more mature, TAME crowd having a pampered chef party instead of a silly bunch of drunk men that are too wild to ever be in the my house again those were DH's friends NOT mine. |

| You are not a bad mom. Everything you said clearly shows that you had their comfort and interest in the forefront of your mind.
