Everyone should leave the man alone and keep their pets off of his property. Problem solved.

| I seriously do not understnad some people. We have stray cats in our neighborhood that people just dump off. Instead of trying to catch them with proper traps we have people putting out cat food with poison mixed in it. We are trying to catch them but it seems to be a silent group that no one is willing to give a name for. My babies do not run loose unless they are in my fenced in back yard. I am pretty sure none of my close neighbors are in this inner circle but that is all I have been able to find out.

That sounds very much like a threat and I'd be careful broadcasting those kind of words to the world. If something, god forbid, does happen to him and they do an investigation guess what will come up? Won't look too great on your part. Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever stopped by and asked this neighbor what his deal is? Maybe he's lived on that block for years and he's tired of all the new people moving in and changing the way he lives his life? Maybe he's tired of always being in defense mode because one neighbor hating on him for not lending a ladder years ago, suddenly turned into the whole neighborhood hating him because he was deemed "unfriendly". When I was growing up, we had a rottie (super friendly) but one of our neighbors was constantly calling the cops saying she was trying to dig out of the yard to get to him. He was sure she was going to kill him! or so he'd say, so naturally the cops would come out and investigate only to see, not only were there no holes being dug in our yard but that she was a super friendly dog. That little nub of hers was always wagging. Tired of having the cops constantly coming over on reports of an "aggressive dog" my parents finally approached the guy. Turns out, he was attacked by a Rottweiler when he was a kid and he just had a natural fear of them. Totally understandable. They came to the agreement that our dog would only be out if someone was out with her, and we gave him treats to toss to our dog when he would go outside. I'm not sure he ever did, as he always kept his distance from the yard but we understood why he was freaked out by her and my parents agreement made the neighborhood a less stressful place to live. The barbed wire on his fence, while exceptionally out of the ordinary for a city block, I can understand. He has the right to do whatever he wants to his fence line, it's not like he is setting booby traps for animals to torture and kill them, just doing what he can to keep cats (which can be pests when left to their own devices outside) out of his yard. Some people shoot wandering cats with pellet guns which can be very damaging as well. Just saying, don't jump to conclusions based off neighborhood chatter, go over and meet the guy. See what he is actually like and draw your conclusions from there. | |

| I'm just glad I don't get involved with these things. I keep my pets safe and sound and myself also. I don't think I want to go meet this man but on the other hand I would never do anything against him. I'm not a fighter( unless he harms one of my dogs) and I doubt that would happen because my dogs stay where they belong and so do my cats. |

| May I make a suggestion? You could tell your "pet loving" neighbors about PAW WAX!.... it will protect your dogs feet. It works great especially if boots are not an option...
