| In TEARS I'm so upset I don't know what to do... . On my way home from work today I saw a tiny, black, long haired chihuahua running down the edge of a busy road. The same road my babies, Crystal and Spike lost their lives on when they got away from my dogsitter. I turned the car around right away and got out trying to get him. He ran away from me... into the busy road. He didn't get hit but I was hysterical. I followed him with my hazzard lights on and everytime I saw an opportunity I stopped the car and tried to get him. Everytime I did, he ran,,, into the busy 5 lane highway. My daughter was in tears because she thought I was going to get hit trying to catch him. I turned my car around so many times, I stopped traffic so he wouldn't get hit but I COULDN'T CATCH HIM. I know he's so far away from home now because I followed him quite a ways. He has no collar and he is clean and well groomed, he's someone's baby and I couldn't catch him. As a matter of fact, I almost got him killed by calling out to him and him running from me out into the street. Eventually I had to leave him. Traffic was getting heavier and he was running from me faster and faster. I didn't want to make him run onto the highway... I'm so upset. My babies found their way onto this same highway- and several people said they tried to catch them but they ran... and were killed. OMG... I just have to pray that someone was able to get him before he met the same fate as my precious Crystal and Spike. God bless that baby.

| This makes me cry.... you were trying your best to rescue the little Chi, but he was so scared. There are so many of these babies getting loose and running in streets that is becoming a epedemic. you did your best , and I am very happy you did not get hurt . Most people would not even try like you did to help in busy traffic. Good job for trying to , and keeping yourself safe.

| Oh goodness...I know this was terribly upsetting for you. We'll just believe the little puppy found his way AWAY from the busy road and into someone's safe arms. |

| I truly hope someone else managed to catch him, but could you maybe go down at a less busy time and try and catch him maybe bring some chicken with you so you can get him close to you.

| I'm so sorry. We had the same thing happen a couple of months ago with a golden retriever (I think). We couldn't get him and every time we tried he'd run across a 6 lane highway, someone even ran over his front paw (they made no effort to stop/swerve- just hit him/her). Eventually, he ran back into a neighborhood and we stopped chasing him bc I didn't want him to go back near the main road. I never saw him again (and we looked) so I hope someone was able to get him. |

| I have a question so I know if I ever encounter something like this. Can you call the police to handle something like this? So they can stop traffic and maybe contact animal control to get them? I don't know how feasible that would be though... |

| I would look around the shelters and craigs list to see if this dog is missing or lost and you can alert the owners of where you saw him... |
