| Sister or Mother? Gracie is the biological mother of Skeeter and Adie although they have different fathers. Now that we have adopted her from the breeder what is she? We call ourselves Mommy and Daddy so does that make her skeeter and Adie's sister or mother? Just wondering. Lou P.S. None of them know they are biologically related. Should we tell them? |

| I think you should tell them the truth. They may hold it against you when/if they ever find out! Let them decide what they want to call themselves. LOL

| Call yourself Mommy and call Gracie the puppies "Mom" or "Mama" to separate it. |

You think this is confusing! My first husband was adopted by his biological father and his wife after his biological father had an afair with his biological mother. His biological mother was married to his biological uncle (his adoptive/biological father's brother). So his adoptive father was also his biological father and his biological mother was also his adoptive aunt. His uncle was his uncle both biologically and adoptively but his adoptive mother was only his adoptive mother. Many years later his adoptive mother and her third husband (no relation) adopted his biological niece and adoptive cousin. She then became his biological sister. So there Steve. figure that one out! | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You are the adoptive mommy and now the biological mother is coming to live with you too, so you will also be her adoptive mommy and that makes you . . . lucky!

| I have the same situation. I have Go-Go (mother) & Tahlulah (daughter). Realizing I didn't give birth to Tahlulah, hubby and I are grandma and grandpa to her......And since my Delilah and Tahlulah are 1/2 sisters, having different Dams, we refer to Go-Go as Delilah's Step-mother......confusing, huh?

| Is there any question as to why am not still married into THAT family? And I was wrong about the adopted little girl. She is my first husband's Sister through adoption, the a niece and cousin through birth. And these two people are related to a very VERY famous female country western singer! |
