| Yorkie with Chihuahuas??? Hey guys, Best regards to all of you Yorkie lovers and owners out there. My girlfriend and I always had plans of buying a female Yorkie to keep Chuchi company when he became one year old. Due to my frequent travel when Chuchi reached 1 year my girlfriend was hessitant to get a second dog due to my frequent travel schedule. During a trip in December, we met a friends dog who was just adorable and was a Chihuahua. We then decided to get Chuchi a little brother similar to the one we met. Chuchi comes back today after being a month with a close friend during our vacation. To his surprise (and to our suprise as well), when we went to the dog breader to pick up the Chihuahua I fell in love with a little black one (Giorgio) and my girlfriend with a little brown one (Papi). We are now the proud owner of our lovely Chuchi and 3 month old Chihuahuas, but the concern..... Chuchi comes home in an hour after having been away for a month!!! Does anyone have advice on how to best assimilate them and have them get along, as Chuchi now has 2 younger brothers, but I am worried that he will feel invaded when coming back to the house and finding the 2 intruders! My plan as of now is to give Chuchi the highest possible amount of attention when he gets home, he continues to be the king of the house, and half an hour later introduce him to the boys (that are currently in our bedroom). Any tips on how to avoid a war for territory and promote friendship and love between the 3 would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Aron (Chuchi, Papi and Giorgio) P.S. I've include a picture of our new boys in the post, and Chuchi has an updated picture in his profile. |

| Congratulations! Your sure going to have your hands full for the next year, but what a happy one it will be....training, bonding and the like. The only advice I can offer in getting the three introduced is to take the two new ones with you when you pick up Chuchi and let them greet one another on a turf that isn't theirs. Then take them on a long walk, and maybe even a dog park if the babies have all their shots. Get them use to walking around as a little pack before heading home. Make things fun for all three. Even if Chuchi isn't all that thrilled to the two new members of the family, he soon will. Yorkies are about the most resilient breeds I know. Keep us up on progress.

| I had two yorkies, Apple & Buzz, before I got the chorkie, I named Cha Cha (chihuahua yorkie mix)...Apple & Buzz kinda ganged up on Cha Cha, during play, but the Chihuahua in Cha Cha made a fare sparing partner, to be sure lol...Now, my female yorkie, Apple and the chorkie, Cha Cha play all day long, whilst Buzz chews on his cigar, umm, I mean bully stick lol...It took about a month, before the Yorkies would let Cha Cha sleep in the bed w/us, but they finally allowed it, and all is well...I think w/you having one Yorkie, and the Chi's being puppies, it's going to go well...Just remember to feed the yorkie first, acknowledge him first, when you walk in the door, give him a treat first and on and on and on...As long as he understands he was the first, I don't think there will be an issue...Btw, I had Apple, first, and she thinks I got Buzz, just for her...She thinks he is her live toy to play with...To be honest, I think Buzz welcomes the rest he gets, while the girls play lol...Congratulations, all your fur kidz are adorable! |

| Thanks for the great advice Sweet Apple! And you're furry ones are adorable!!! One thing we noticed is that Chuchi is too noble. He lets his 2 little brothers into his crate and bed and leaves (he feels invaded but he doesn't want to bark at them or force them out so he just leaves ). I am not sure if to just let them sort it out on their own or for now help Chuchi protect his space (they have their own crate and little bed). What do you guys think would be best? Thanks, Aron |

| Now, I'm the one who's sad. I went to the computer and called Chuchi over to sit in the chair next to me as he always used to. But Chuchi is sad, he is still getting used to the 2 new pups who are now sharing a room with him. It makes me sad to not see Chuchi with his normal high spirit, he was so happy to come back home and be with us, I couldn't help but break into tears Hopefully the next few weeks of bonding will make this easier on all of us |

| I think chihuahuas and yorkies are great together. When you come back from your walks make sure Chuchi enters before the others. Maybe kick the kids out of his bed. It's hard to be 'forced' to share EVERYTHING all at once. Entire house, all the toys, you and mom! Perhaps you could manage a way to let his bed be kinda 'sacred' just for him. At least until he totally accepts them. Right now he thinks it could just be a playdate and he's waiting for the little buggers to leave so he can get his house back. When he doesn't come like usual, go get him and put him in your lap, or his usual place in the chair. Let him know that their presence doesn't affect your relationship or his place in the 'pecking order'. The newbies will entertain each other, while you lavish more affection on Chuchi than he knows what to do with. Let him feel smothered. He may associate their arrival as a great thing if it brings him so much extra attention. Congratulations on expanding your pack... the more the merrier!

| I have 6 Yorkies and 2 Chihuahuas!! I think they are great together!! In fact my youngest Yorkie thinks he is a Chi and always grooms them and sleeps with them and they have accepted him as a hairy "chi" brother!! Both these breeds have similar personality traits so they are all full of personality, stubborn, funny, loving, spirited and the loves of my life. I'm sure Chuchi will learn to love his brothers but it is a bit harder with 3 boys, you probably should have thrown at least one girl in the mix but I think you can make it work. Good Luck!!

| Papi just pissed on Chuchi's bed This is not going to be easy. Chuchi is too nice to them. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on this little one. In the meanwhile, Giorgio is great and only does his business on the pee pad. |
