| I have no idea, and hopefully other more knowlegable folks will come along, but at least you got her to the Vet. What does the vet now say since it has been going on? What does the breeder say? Best of luck. |

| Older dogs have a weaker immune system. Muffin isn't able to fight the kennel cough off as easily as a puppy. Kennel cough can hang on for quite awhile. Are you making sure Muffin has quiet time and a space free from the puppy so she can rest? Puppies can stress an older dog out. Muffin needs lots of rest so she can recover. |

| I would definitely take her back to the dr to see if she might be able to get another shot. At that age, I would be very concerned.

| I hope you are keeping them seperated because Kennel Cough is very contagious. When I took Zach to the vet they sent us right into a room so we wouldn't be around other dogs. With an older dog it is very important to keep them apart. I know my vet told us not to let Zach near any of our other dogs otherwise it can go back and forth like a tennis ball. |

| I will be taking Muffin back to the vet today, she was up all night hacking and coughing it has been 4 weeks now my new puppy Roxy is doing just fine no coughing at all. My biggest fear is that Muffin has collapsed trachea due to catching kennel cough from Roxy.... thank you all |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I brought Cali home I had my 8 year old pom. Cali had kennel cough and gave it to Maya my pom. It took 3 months and 2 rounds of antibiotics to clear Cali's up and a little longer for Maya. With them as they got closer to getting over it, the coughing was mostly at night and first thing in the morning. The vet should be able to tell if it is anything more than the kennel cough. Good luck.
