| Mean Female I have 3 Yorkies 1. Female mother of 2. 6 month old male and 3. 6 year old male who is the father of the puppy. The female is always mean to the older male always grawling at him and snipping not really biteing I dont think. Its really sad cause he is so sweet and big. He is like a little tank and she is idk maybe 7,8 pounds, and he never grawls back or snips or bites her back when she does that to him. Also he has seizures due to a vet giving him to much anesthetic and when he has a seizure she really attacks him. I have to pick him up to keep her from hurting him. I know during the seizures he looks aggressive cause he is showing his teeth and shaking im sure she thinks she is protecting me. most of the time everything is ok they can eat out of the same bowl be around each other but he looks like he is walking on nails around her and at night, if she gets on the bed first she looks down on him just waiting for him to jump on the bed so she can bite him in the face. and as always he looks at me and whines. im glad he dont but if he want to he could really hurt her but he takes the high road..lol. so my question is why does she act this way and what can I do to stop her from doing it. By the way she has no problem with the 6 month old male they play non stop. Im guessing cause its her puppy? We use to have a female Chihuahua she had no to little problem with her??? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Your female didn't act this way before their pup was born? If not, it could be the puppy she thinks she is protecting. Any plans to find a home for the pup? Perhaps her behavior would change if you did. Regardless, you have to protect the male, even if it means crating her when you can't be there to watch.

| Bump means that, while we don't have an answer, we want someone who might to see the thread. So we're "bumping" the thread up to the 1st new posts page where someone has a better chance of seeing it and answering it. It is periodically done for threads that have gone unanswered that are older. |

| How old is the female? I know Gypsy acts this way with my pom. She has arthritis (she's 6 yrs old this month) in her hips. And she gets grouchy esp when she is accidently stepped on. She is the queen and wants the other 2 to know it.
