| Anyones yorkie have dry skin? Gizmo's skin always seem to be dry as well as his hair. The hair on his tail ( hes not docked) is nice and silky however his body hair isnt. What can be done about dry skin? Fish oil? I use shampoos that have oatmeal and i only bathe him once every 3-4 weeks since he is so dry. |

| Mine get a Tri-V capsule in their food. I poke a hole in it and squirt the oil ovet their food. Each capsule is split it between the two. My vet suggested it. I think it's similar to the fish oil but it seems to help their coat. I buy them from the vet.

| What food are you feeding him? If it has grains, that might be part of the problem. Just a thought. Also, I really don't care for oatmeal shampoo. My vet always recommends chlorhexadrine shampoo for dry flaky skin. There are many shampoos on the market...and lots of people on YT use different ones. I use Pet Silk shampoo and just recently started using PEK conditioner. The PEK is amazing...makes their hair super soft!

Donating YT Addict | Bee's skin is very dry & it looks like dandruff. I have to use medicated shampoo (you cant get it for like $10 at your local pet store) if I dont then she looks white & she is ALL black.

YT Addict | My Gizmo has the same problem, I use the oatmeal shampoo, Royal Canin Yorkie Food, Conditioner, and then I use Coconut Oil on his skin after a bath. The coconut oil has helped a lot. He has allergies so he lost a lot of hair over the summer from scratching, so I am trying to grow it back.

No Longer a Member | I hear that the Royal Canin tends to cause itchy skin, and I saw this first hand with Rizzo. I switched him cold to Wellness and he did just fine, but I think he's one of those rare "iron gut" pups. Have you checked with your vet about it? It may be environmental allergies as well. |
