| Depends on the brand and what the purpose of the shoe is. It's been my experience that different brands have different sizes just like human clothes and shoes. I just go with knowing my boys measurements, read the labels and go with the size that would fit him. Made up example... If I were to say Kaji's foot measurement is 1 in across, and 1 inch long. Brand "X" has that labeled as M but brand "Y" is S. So really it depends.

| Proper Form for Comfortable Foot Ware I had the same problem Think of it this way: Our dogs feet are basically circular. Most dog boots we see are in an long oval type shape. Fitting way too big, right? Roxy wont even walk in them. I make my dog booties but I have also got her a cool pair of leapord print, rubber soled, fleece lined dog boots off of eBay. The thing with them is that the sole is round. Measuring your dogs foot: From outside of pad to the other outside pad, width wise and then length wise, omitting the nails. This gives you the size of your dogs foot. Write it down to keep handy as not all manufacturers measurements are the same. Meaning the XXS may be a 1/3 of an inch bigger or smaller than the next. When buying shoes or boots for Roxy I allow for a 1/4" give if I have too. So far so good. I will post the link to eBay showing the Leopard print booties she got for winter. Great to protect feet from freezing in the snow and from the salt on the roads. A little rigid but it you don't do them up too tight they are fine. One thing I don't like about them is the miles of velcro strapping but for the protection, we bare with it. High Top Leather Dog Boots print dog boots items - Get great deals on Pet Supplies, Collectibles items on eBay.com! If you shop around you may be able to find them for $5. Shipping on top of that. We got ours from Hong Kong for $5 and $5 shipping! I Love EBay! Quote:
