Where does your Yorkie sleep? Our 3 year old Yorkie, Charlie, has slept in his crate in the kitchen up until a few months ago. Then, when the weather got very cold we started to let him sleep on the sofa in the living room, where it is warmer. For the last few weeks, while I have been off work he has taken to coming into my and my husbands bed after his morning walk, to join me in my lie-in. I rather like him being there and am tempted to let him start sleeping in our bed. I know in my head that dogs should not sleep in our beds but my heart wants him too and my husband says he doesn't thunk Charlie likes being left on his own at night. I am just windering what where other Yorkies sleep? |
Daisy sleeps in our bed under the blankets snuggled up behind my knees . I am a side sleeper and she loves that spot.lol |
Jackson has slept in my bed since I brought him home at 9 weeks old (I kept him in a soft crate on my actual bed for the first 5 weeks or so). But ever since, he's been right at my feet, or curled up against me. He is now over 2 years old. |
I am a side sleeper too and Maddie LOVES to curl up int he bend of my knees or at my waist nestled next to my belly. :p I just love it! |
All 4 of mine sleep in the bed with me. |
Marge's Office, On the couch in the Family room on her blanket, or in her heated bed next to ours at night. |
In a teeny tiny little ball right behind me. No matter how many times I move him over he always finds his way back. Him sleeping in our bed all started with him needing to get up in the middle of the night to go outside and I could never get to him quick enough when he was sleeping in the crate. As soon as I felt him move around, outside we went. Thank goodness he sleeps all night now! |
Snoopy sleeps in "his" bed. Luckily, it's a queen-size and he lets me and DH sleep in it, too. :p I don't think it's a problem if dogs sleep in their human's beds, as long as all the humans are ok with it. |
Jersey Boy sleeps in the bed usually starts off on top of my legs then moves to the side. Brielle sleeps in her playpen next to the bed. |
All 4 of them in my bed, snuggled as close to me as they can get. |
Beau sleeps curled up behind my knees every night and take Sunday afternoon naps on the couch with DH. Beau is 10.5 lbs and was a year old on Friday. |
I have a ceiling fan on at night when I'm sleeping and Callie gets cold even with a nightie on, on the bed and I move so much I worry about hurting her. She sleeps in a soft sided dog house about 2 feet from the side of my bed that I have put a nice thick bed in that takes up the hole bottom of the house and she likes it. When she is sick or not feeling good she does sleep in my bed with me so I can have her close. When we go out of town she will also sleep in bed with me. |
Lexi sleeps in our bed...with her favorite blanket all curled up in my belly area...I love it. Hubby well...LOL |
Sammy sleeps in the kitchen, aka Sammy's room. When I get up I like to take him into bed with me for a little cuddle time. I'm afraid that if he sleeps in the bed all night I will roll over on him. |
I guess I'm outnumbered. My babies sleep in separate kennels in my room. We get up at 4:30 am with DH and then we go back to sleep on the couch. I'm a side-sleeper also, so Tia is behind my knees (if she doesn't climb on top) and Ally is in the front. Ally always has to have an opposite side of me than her sister. I don't see anything wrong with them sleeping in the bed though. |
Fido doesnt like to sleep always in the same place. Sometimes he sleeps in my bed, sometimes in his pen, and sometimes on some clothes on the floor :) Most often he sleeps in his cage for 1-3 hours, and then cries beside my bed beging me to lift him up to my bed (he cant jump in my bed himself). I love having him sleeping in my bed :) |
Armani ALWAYS sleeps under the covers next to my stomach. Chloe usually sleeps on an extra pillow next to mine, but will sometimes get off the bed if I move too much and lay in one of the dog beds on the floor for awhile- but by the morning she is back curled up next to me. :D |

Teegy always slept in his own bed but in my room. Then one morning I awoke and couldn't find him, turned around and there the little imp was sleeping on one of my pillows. So he sleeps in my bed. Sometimes on the blanket that I have on their for him and sometimes right beside my head on the pillow. I went to Ikea not too long ago and bought one of their inexpensive down and feather pillows and put it in his bed covered by his blanket and now he actually sleeps on it every once in a while. We had my friends two Yorkies April and Ripley staying with us for a week and on the weekend I let them sleep in bed with us. Huge mistake, I had three gorgeous fluffy cuddly babies fighting to see who get get snuggled in the closest. I ended up with April tucked under my armpit with her head on my arm. Ripley on my chest with her face stuck in mine and Teegy on my head. Let me tell ya not much sleep was had by be. Thank god I only did that on the weekend. |
Marcie sleeps by the curve of my back , the chihuahua sleeps tucked in by my tummy. Then they both stretch out and I am lucky to have any room at all. |
Zoey sleeps in her bed of course. She is simply kind enough to let my wife & I share it with her. |

Well Gizmo starts out on his pillow which is in between mine and hubby pillows, and he stays there and plays tug of war with hubby. Then when its lights out and the TV goes of he is nestled near my belly, before pushing me to the edge while he stretches out on his back. He has slept with us since I got him at 6 weeks old.:D |
Buster starts off on my legs and then moves to curl up behind my knees or under my armpit. After I get up to go to work he goes over to my roommates bed and curls up there. I love it when he wakes up and rolls over for the first belly rub of the day. I keep hitting the sleep button just so I can snuggle with him. I have to laugh though many times I wake up and he has 3/4 of the bed. |
Scooter use to sleep right next to DH all night long but when we got Sadie and she started sleeping in the bed, he now sleeps in his bed on our bedroom floor. When we first go to bed he lays next to me to get his belly rubbed and when he is done with me he goes to his bed. Sadie sleeps by me all night long, starts out on her belly cause I have to rub it for her or she can not go to sleep. I always wake up with both of them in my face giving me kisses cause they want out. My babies are spoiled :littleangRIP Sophie Lynn Mommy loves and misses you |
presto used to sleep in his bed in pen, then he started jumping it :) now he alternates between our bed and his crate bed :) |

Harley sleeps with us. We have steps beside the bed so he can eat, drink or potty when he wants. He like my hubby's side of the bed best. He has 4 "doggie" beds but they aren't getting a lot of use except when our cats comes upstairs. |
Jack sleeps with DH and me. He starts out between us, then usually goes down by feet. When I get out of bed in the morning, he goes with me so I can put him out to potty, then he goes and curls up next to hubby. Hubby is on disability and stays home, so yea, Jack is spoiled! |

Ziva usually sleeps in a crate next to my bed since I have only had her a few weeks. But she has been whining at night now and only wants on my bed so I have been letting her sleep with me. I ♥ it and so does she lol! |
