My older Yorkie, Hally has a hard time getting on the bed now. I put her up there and she'll sleep there for awhile but seems to prefer to sleep on the carpet, not even on a bed I have for her on the floor. That or she sleeps in my closet in the bathroom. She has always been independent though and did not always prefer the bed. Zoey is 7 months old and she is all about the bed. When I first got her she would actally stretch out across my chest. I would wake up strangled by Yorkie. Now she either sleeps right behind me or get right up on my pillow. |
Both my boys have always slept in the bed with us. When we got Snickers, we had a queen-sized bed. When Baxter came a year later, we bought a king-sized bed so we'd all have enough room. Now DH and I are crunched on either side of the bed, and the two yorkies are sprawled out in the center. They only sleep sideways, of course, this way they can take up more space. :D |
Amanda7 thanks for the chuckle before bed |
Darwin sleeps in his bed with Mabel's crate pushed up right next to it. When she is older, and more trustworthy, she will be in Darwin's bed. I'm sure if I dared let them sleep in our bed, my husband would think it's okay for his dog Zain to sleep with us - he's over 120 pounds of hair and heft:eek: |
My lil girl slept in her crate for like the first two weeks when we got her and she sleeps either next to me or my husband or in the middle. But rite efore she finds her spot to sleep she does dis thing where she has to dig into the blankets to find her spot shes so cute when she does dat. |
Gizmo sleeps in his crate until about 5 or 6am then he wants out to go potty and then sleeps with me till i have to get up. When he does sleep in bed with me i lay on my side and he curls up against my chest and lays his head on my arm or neck soo cute i love it :) He would love to sleep with us all the time if we would let him but our bed is high and hes only 3.4 pounds right now so i worry about him falling off. I hope he grows a little more hes 7 months *FINGERS CROSSED* Hes just too tiny for me right now!!!! |
Both of mine sleep in bed with DH and me :) Couver likes to sleep under the covers with me when it's cold and Khloe sleeps between my legs at the end of the bed. |
Chloe sleeps in my bed cuddle behind my knees or in front of my feet, she always has to play tug of war before going to sleep and then she finds her spot moving the sheets around... My precious!! ^_^ |
Kayla and Dudley sleep with us and Tina and Lexi sleep in their little beds on each side of the bed. |
We all sleep together. In there bed My husband and I sleep in the pups King size bed. I think it is nice that we are allowed to sleep with them. They all have there special spot. Jackie is always on her pillow, on top of my pillow. Sadie, sleeps up against my left hip. Julie's spot is on my left side, as well, by my head. Rosie sleeps in between my legs by my feet. Romeo, his spot is next to my husbands feet and Lillie is under the blanket, behind my dh back. The 4 cats fill in where ever there is a spot. Thank goodness I am a back sleeper, but never roll on any of them. They all sleep all night long. They will wake me up if they need to out to potty,if any one else has to potty they go along at that time to potty as well. In the morning, when I get up to take them out, I say who is laying back down with Mommy, all of them get back in bed and stay there until I am ready to get up for good.I am so lucky I have a great group of babies. If I get a foster, they sleep with all of us too. |
Mine sleep with me. I don't see anything wrong with it. I have read the alpha dog lines about not letting them sleep with you, but I don't buy into it or maybe I just overlook it. ;) I LOVED South's answer! "Zoey sleeps in her bed of course. She is simply kind enough to let my wife & I share it with her." Ain't that the truth of it! |
The Queen (Gypsy, our yorkie) sleeps at my waist between me and dh on top of the covers. Our baby boy (Seymour, a pom) sleeps outside the cover at my feet. And Puff (our chi) sleeps as next to her daddy as she can under the covers. Dh makes sure he gets enough of our Queen size bed, it's me that is usually at the edge of the bed. That is until he gets up at 6 am. I do not have to be at work until 2 pm so the four of us stretch out all over the bed until I have to get up. |
When my husband is here (he's currently deployed :() Bella sleeps right next to him or under my chin, and in the mornings when he gets up for work, she goes to the edge of the bed so she can go downstairs with him and he gives her "breakfast"..usually just a little treat, and lets her out to potty, after her treat she runs back upstairs and yaps at me to put her back the bed with me. He says she uses him for treats LOL Now we have Blossom and I am just now starting to let her sleep with me. Most nights, especially wekends, she sleeps in her pen on the floor at the foot of my bed. She likes to get up to early when in the bed with me.Bella will sleep as long as I do, shes a great sleeper, Blossom is still young, only 6 months, and she is still figuring it all out. I wake every morning with her nose in my face telling me "good morning". She never makes a peep while in her pen and waits to potty too. Both sleep right next to me as close as they can get. We have a king size bed, and I sleep on the edge because they are usually so close to me I cant move.. Bella has started sleeping on my husbands pillow since he has been gone, I think she really misses him.:( |
Little Bee has slept in my bed since the day I brought her home, she refuses too sleep anywhere unless im there. The day I got her, I had a little box with a towel & a cuddle toy(since it was her first time away from her mom&liter mates) & she fell alseep in there to me rubbing her belly, so I kept my arm in the box, then an hour or so later I was awaken to a whinning & whimpering & her nuzzling my hand. so I lifted her out & wrapped her in a blanket because it was cold & she slept in my arms like a baby. She did this for like 6 months, then she changed to sleep with my arms around her, with me on my side & her facing me. But occasionally, she likes to get wrapped up & sleep in my arms. :) She also does this thing where she scratches my arm until I lift the blankets up so she can go under them, she has too do that before bed everynight. But he has really slept with me in my bed (or wherever im sleeping) since THE DAY I got her, oh always with her THERMAL PINK PAJAMS TOO:) I love my little Princess Pickle Pants :) Spoiled Little Momma's girl. ps:this is why she has a shirt that says "Mommy's Baby" & "Mommy's Girl" because she 100% is. She loves her Daddy too, just not the same. we both love him tho. :) |
Zoe and Zach sleep in either my friend's room on her bed or in my room on my bed. Chloe and Cleo are my Bassets and they are a little large to sleep in bed with us so they sleep in their crate in the sun room, and Oliver my 8 week old shih tzu sleeps in his little pen next to my bed. I suppose when he gets older he'll join his brother Zach and his sister Zoe in bed with either my friend and I. I also have 4 or 5 cats that join us in bed so it's kind of crowded but thank God I have a king size bed. |
In my bed of course! :) Calleigh has slept in my bed pretty much since I got her. She did sleep in a crate for a few days, and was very good. I really think they bond with us so much better by being with us during that quiet time. If she has to go to the bathroom, she will give me a little kiss on my face. :) I have a pillow behind my pillow and she sleeps there. In the cold weather I cover her with her own little blanket. She is very happy and so am I. :) |
Piper sleeps in my bed with me. I like to sleep in a cold room, so Piper sleeps under the covers curled beside me. Piper is such a good little sleeper and she doesn't move until I peel back the covers and tell her it's time to get up. She always gives me that look that seems to say it can't be morning already. |
Before we decided to get another dog we need to change our bed to a King. Pixie started out in her crate until the age of 6 months old, but she start whining at night so I put her ion our bed. Now she is over 2 years old and sleep on her own blanket inbetween myself and DH. We are both side sleeps so we never roll into her. Sometime during the day when we can't find her she is sound a sleep on her blanket on her bed (our King bed). She now thinks our bed is her bed. HA HA :) |
[QUOTE=BeyonceMomma23;3380032] She also does this thing where she scratches my arm until I lift the blankets up so she can go under them, she has too do that before bed everynight. QUOTE] My babies do that too. If I try to ignore it at all, they just keep scratching and a little harder. They usually get out of bed for a moment to say bye to dh and most times he covers them up before he leaves. |
All four of our pups sleep in bed with us. |
Bella has slept with us from day 1. Curled in a little ball, right next to me or hubby, always touching. Especially now that it is cold found her under the blankets curled up behind my back. :) |

Brooklyn sleeps in the small of my back on my bed- I'm a side sleeper. She started out sleeping in the kennel, but we would have nighttime tv watching, cuddle time together on my bed and I started putting her in her kennel later and later. Eventually, I let her stay all night and she did fine. She was about 6 months when I started that. When Kymmi came along, Brooklyn regressed some with potty training and had to be put back into the kennel for a week or so. Now she's back on my bed and Kymmi is still in the kennel beside my bed. I don't trust Kymmi all night quite yet, she's only 15 weeks old. When I do, I'm sure I'll have two furbabies in the bed with me. :D |

Right now mine sleep in their crate at night. If I could get them 100 percent house broken then I would happily let them sleep with me. My husband has told me that he would be okay with that as well. We have a king size bed and plenty of room for 2 Yorkies. I would love for them to sleep with us. |

My Auti snoozies right in bed with me snuggled underneath the comforters. Sometimes I wonder who's bed it is. Sometimes she'll sleep on the couch when its windy (her safe haven) or in her crate when I'm moving to much in "her" bed. And I wish she could make the bed in the morning cause when I make it she tends to jump back on the bed and ruin my spreading. I think she thinks its a game. Silly ol Autumn. :D |
